1. WILL THE TOTAL MASS OF THE SEALED JAR CHANGE OVER TIME?
2. IF YOU THINK IT WILL CHANGE, WILL THE MASS INCREASE OR DECREASE?

No. I don't think that the mass of the jar will change. This might make some of you scream, but I'm going to bring in the law of conservation of mass (or matter). It can neither be destroyed or created, so I think that the jar will still weigh the same. BUT! that is only a theory. So I might be wrong. XD
(I don't even know if i got the conservation of mass thing right (^_~)

I think that the mass of the jar will increase. The water mass will neither increase nor decrease, because when it evaporates, it has nowhere to go, but to the top of the jar. The mass of the plant will increase, if it is not full grown, and if it will reproduce, the mass of all the plants will be greater. As well as the plant decomposes, that means more volume, AND weight, which is mass. Oxygen does
