During this pandemic Sir Zahari has held classes according to the hours required without fail. Even through ODL, Sir has remained patient in teaching his students even in a small class. The methods of teaching are simple to understand and easy to follow. Thank you very much Sir!!

Early 2020, all of us were taken aback with the news of the ongoing pandemic worldwide. We were evacuated from university and had to stay at home, close to our family. We had to abruptly fit in with the new environment where people could not easily head out due to the fear of catching the virus.

It was a shocker but we had to manage anyway. The first few weeks were rough, due to everyone trying to find a medium on how to attend class, or for lecturers, how to handle one. In my own opinion, the first class was a little bit awkward, probably because it has been a while since the last class but all was well. Especially for this subject, I admire how Sir Zahari would always manage to keep in touch with all of us and he made sure that we could always keep up with him during his lessons.

Having to do online classes for me is.. a bit mentally challenging but it cannot be helped. Having Sir Zahari teaching the class made it 200% better because even though we’re all far from each other, he made sure we’re all relevant in his class. For that, thank you very much sir! It would be possibly harder without you.

I would not have it in any other way. The teaching / presenting method, the assignments and tests are all fit and okay to me. But this is from my personal opinion. I am not sure if my classmates feel the same way. I also prefer using google classroom and meet, mainly because when I was asked to use Microsoft Teams for a different class, I faced complications. Hence why I think this method is almost near perfect already.

Looking forward to what the future has for all of us. But this concludes on how I feel about this semester, this subject, and a glimpse of my early 2020.

2020 is the year of pandemic that require student to do Odl. I personally enjoy Odl because it’s flexible as I dont have to drive or walk over a mile to go to classes. Sir Zahari did a great job lecturing during Odl as he did in the class. unarguably one of the best lecturer you can find out there.

I truly think the ODL experience is a quite meaningful experience despite of it's challenging condition. To me, Sir Zahari is one of the best lecturer during this ODL since he always do the class on the scheduled time. Since I'm a quite slow learner since I'm an easily distracted person, this ODL class really helps me a lot especially through Google Meet platform and I really loves that Sir Zahari doesn't even care to give every recording for every class for me to revise back again what I've learned in the class. For that, thank you so much Sir. You're the best! I am truly sorry and apologized if I've ever missed your class, not focusing enough in your class or doesn't do my best enough for this subject because you already did your best for us. Thank youu <3

What i love about ODL is i can play the recorded video when i didn't fully understand during the online session. The bad thing is ODL needs good internet connection. Sometime during online classes, i can't fully understand when my connection becomes 'crazy'. From my experiences, Microsoft Team is easier to send our task because we can create partition for assignment, tutorial, note and many more. For recorded videos, i can access them anytime. When i need to request, i afraid i'll lost the spirit to study at that time while waiting for the approval. Beside that, ODL is stressful because i hate sitting in front of laptop for a long period of time. I prefer walking to the class for learning session. In my opinion, from the way Sir Zahari teaches us, is very well. You always try to help student in understanding during learning session👍. It's not about your way teaching us but it's about the main problem which is ODL system. For the positive side, ODL give us flexibility to attend the classes how student wants.

Based on my experience during this covid-19, ODL was nice. But what makes it bad is when we have a commitment at that ODL place. It adds more burden. Alhamdulillah, for me as long as I learned with sir, sir did not add the burden. Because for me your delivery method is very expensive, because not many people do it. The 'not to fast' way sir makes me easy to catch up. It's really easy. Even if I want to list your kindest there are to many many many many. But I dont know my final result. I don't know what your lacking in teaching. Lastly, Im gonna appologize because sometimes im not reply back your questions. 😭 also others mistake. I wish only the best of honors for you sir. 🏆🥇🏅

My initial impression of ODL was that I felt it would be difficult to understand the subject to be taught because of my distance from the lecturer. in fact, Sir Zahari has proven that ODL learning is not as difficult as I thought. Sir Zahari has made me feel easier to understand than to study in class.

What I respect about Sir Zahari is his concern. In every class sir Zahari will remind us to be safe, always wear masks and wash hands. Although the order is simple, it has a huge impact on us.

A pandemic is an absolute horror which give people lots of trouble in lots of ways. 2020 is a year of pandemic which where the COVID-19 spreads all over the world. Education system faces difficulties which at the end the organisation came out with a solution wHich is the Online Distance Learning (ODL). This is an initiative of an alternative to keep the education going. But it has some flaws as it is still a new method of learning and also teaching. The difficulties faced by both parties which are the students and the lecturers are sometimes it is hard to be online on ODL because the line is nit always great. I think that i have talk a bit too much so I’m gonna end it here. YES the ODL have some flaws but it is just because people can’t really get used to it yet.

My ODL Experience

At first, when our Prime Minister announced that our country will be lockdown and all student need to online study, honestly I bit excited. Oh my god the future is now. Having the thoughts of the ODL classes will be so much fun, interesting, flexible (and of course the thought of not having to shower before class 🤣). Not gonna lie I did buy new earphone just for this. It was good for the first few days.

Little did I know, it actually not as fun as I thought it will be. Hahaha to young to realise. It was really exhausted with all the work loads, no friends to support and not to mention of zero motivation especially with the slow internet connection.

However, a massive respect to Sir Zahari for a wonderful teaching methods. The class video is so helpful for the revision. Everything is fine, the problem is me. I missed morning classes and sometimes not responding to your questions. It was a great class with you despite the pandemic happening. Thank you so much Sir Zahari and looking forward to be your student for another subject 😄

My Memories in ELE232

Assamualaikum, as we all know this semester our class was held in google meet due to pandemic, at my first thought, the ODL was complicated because we cant face each other. Along our lesson in google meet, I understand what the sir teach us because sir will try hard to make us understand the topic and we as the student appreciate it. After a few class, I found out the there are few advantages of ODL, with the google meet and google classroom, we can submit assignment easily to our sir. Besides that, the ODL make us to communicate which each other thus make our classmates relationship better. In conclusion, sir Zahari give his all time to us to make us the good person and educated. In hope, I hope all person in this class can keep the touch after the semester and my all classmates will successful person in future and to our beloved sir, I hope you in good health all over time, miss everyone❤️

ODL EXPERIENCE

My true feeling towards ODL is definitely complicated. There are pros and cons that are reflected in me towards ODL. I personally think that ODL is quite challenging. The reason behind it is I think its because of the urges made were so sudden and what need to be practice are very uncommon to the users which are the lecturers and also the students. What made it difficult is I personally think that ODL made lecturers struggles to pop an idea on how to make ODL works and some were managed to do that such as this class of ELE232, where Sir Zahari did an excellent job which provides students with very detailed teaching. But unfortunately, some students were forced to learn in ODL the hard way where its pretty much learn the syllabus by themselves self as they are not provided with full capacity of learning method which make them left behind. But actually the students can read get through it because all it need is just a little push. I think this is as far as it goes. If there are more ODL were meant to be in the future, I believe that it will bee a lot easier as we all know the way to make it work as the experience teach us.
