In which you get points for every book you read as well as prizes and pizza parties if! I remember always trying my best in these competitions in  the beginning. However, I was big into dance and sports and did not have the time to read as many chapter books at others in my grade. This caused me to feel discouraged and not participate as much in these reading competitions because I knew I could never read as much as other students. I often found myself falling asleep while doing so...but I did it. 
However, during the summers of highschool  I actually had free time to read. As a teenage girl and hopeless romantic, I started to read the Nicolas Spark novels. The first one I read was Dear John. I could not put that book down, I fell in love with it. I then saw the very popular movie, and was disappointed. I then realized that what they say is true, books are always better than the movies. So after that, before I watched any other Nicolas Spark movie I tried to read the book first. I did this with Safe Haven, Dear John, The Last Song, and The Lucky One. I love to read good books with stories that interest me. Most of those being your typical love story and girly type of books. The past three years in college, I have not had the time to read for pleasure. Last year I tried to read a religious book based on a true story and did love reading it. I want to finish all the Nicolas Spark books and see all the movies. I want to finish that book I started last year. I want to read the Harry Potter books, maybe with my kids one day, because I am obsessed with the movies and know the books must be even better. I have always been a history buff and recently went to D.C with my mom. She has recommended so many historical books based on true  stories to me that I would love to actually read one day. I also want to have a big classroom library in my future classroom. My older sister has always loved to read and is that teacher who has an amazing classroom library full of a variety of great books.
