hybrid can prepare us for how we can work at a distance.  how we use systems.

previous experience 100% remote, very siloed - very isolated. had the RD taking my through everything, met with DO physically, face to face hand over - irreplaceable. very different asking a question when someone is sitting next to you. much more comfortable asking someone a silly question   - might get a longer answer.
Informal conversation - really reassuring - we can have the same challenges.
being able to work from home when suits, can be in the house all day for (electrician for example), very handy. 

Disadvantages: 
learn more you are in touch with people 
at home the process is slow. 
training takes longer.

the fact that my line manager is not based in Dublin - I don't get to see them much - never see face to face. just on emails and then on teams. slight disadvantage.
can go more days but useless as my other colleagues not there.
if you are in the office more connected to share information easily and ideas.

Good - it wouldn't have been manageable to commute each day. wanted to come into the office building a sense of team and enjoy the hybrid system works for me. Coming to the office more often, more focused. the commute is okay for me to do it more office.

I was working in London NGO - concerns communication feels very dated - I remember seeing the ads on tv - cliched - not showing as agents on change. maybe in the context of ireland. can be damaging of the ways we see people in african countries, can form a racist view.
impressed when I went to CAR - it was a positive impression compared to the ads. On a personal level. it is just a short bus journey away, it is a very clear boundary. I do an extra day in the office, different place to work.

I did my interview online which I thought was really good. lots of meeting with my manager and different people on my team - when working from home I could message my manager, there were lots of communications. When we came back to the office, it has been good to meet people in person - we come in wed and thurs - thurs we would have our team meetings. it is nice coming into the office when it is not that busy, good to come in and meet people.

when you are coming 5 days a week - sometimes I schedule my work for quieter days when there is less people around. Hybrid is huge - I wouldn't move onto another company if they did not have hybrid - it is a deal breaker. The technology here is very good and makes working from home seamless.

great deal of flexibility - easier to balance your week.  great for training days. nice balance really.

flexibility for family - that's something I wouldn't have been able to do if i was working 5 days a week. Now I am only using the train twice a week, saving a bit of money.

Disadvantages: Flexi? my understanding is that flexi is gone, a little bit of extra flexibility for appts - the clock card

hybrid is a good model - people that have to travel long distances a disadvantages

Never come across a HR dept providing so much support. Reinforces how people centric Concern is. great docs, contract, on line material.  At interview - safeguarding coersive control, found it really refreshing that's what is being focussed on.  Felt really professional

Yes, people works with are really fantastic and has really enjoyed working with them. Wide workplace culture - decisions, environment - not quite in line with her expectation - decisions some seem a bit more corporate than when she expected. Surprised to bring people in two days a week, previous fully flexi hybrid working, teams taking decisions together, surprising as had worked with Concern before, felt like change in direction. Required two days in office much harder for those with caring responsibilities much harder.  Doesn't know if it's equitable even if trying to be fair.

Opportunity to meet people from outside of team. Hybrid model not always the best way of integrating networks. Re-establish networks with people.

Disadvantages - equity specifically related to the structure of the model, feels there are other ways of doing hybrid. Concern's as an org promotes diversity, model adopted and staff treated and organised was surprising - strictness of it, works well from home herself but for others may prefer in person time. No option to choose a disadvantage. Sticking point - not against hybrid - way being implemented causing difficulties for some. Coming in not the same for everyone. disabilities, medical conditions etc. Positive changes to how office is set up, but hauling laptop and if you need supports, being at home could be an easier choice.

Useful - especially intro to concern. Important to get as much information at the beginning from different sources.

Lot of information, well communicated. Helpful to be put into groups to discuss what was said. Not sure what advantage in-person would have over online. 

Good to speak with people outside of your own team. 

Would like more engagement with instructor after breakout rooms for some sessions. EDI, Safeguarding - better in person to answer more detailed questions. 

It was nice to get to know some other colleagues outside of SAL

Would not increase the amount of content/duration of the induction

Induction is not just about the content included, but who you meet, connections in the organisation etc. 

Word cloud did not work well. Polls are ok, can be good to keep your attention.

Working quite well as it was, good that varied speakers throughout the session.

Might be nice to incorporate some more interactive elements (polls, Mural or Mentimeter, etc.)

As all of us have gone through the mandatory learning modules on Learn365 quite recently, it might be helpful to make sure that the same material is not just rehashed again so soon in the induction course.
