  This picture is a propaganda cartoon. We can see the big title at the top : Superman.
 It is the seventeenth issue, it was published in July/August 1942.
 This comic costs ten cents and it belongs to DC comic's.
The USA had entered in war in December 1941 with the Allies. It is the Pearl Harbor battle who had triggered it. 

Description+ Analyse:
    In the middle, we can see a super-hero : SUPERMAN !!!
 He is wearing a blue costume with a big red « S » on his chest. He has a red cap and red boots, and he is wearing a yellow belt.
 He represents the USA because his colours and his strength are a symbol of the country and he is lifting up Hitler with one hand and Hirohito with the other hand. 
 Hitler is wearing a brown uniform : the nazi costume.
 We recognize him because he has the nazi symbols : the Swastika and the eagle (on his hat), and he has a moustache too.
 Hirohito is wearing a green and white uniform and a saber in his belt. He has black boots, round glasses and white gloves. He hasn't hair and he has slit eyes. They are ridiculous.

The background is yellow and the colours are bright.
 Superman is standing upon on the world, this shows his strength.
 We can read « World's greatest adventure-strip character ! »
 Superman is a nice super-hero, he fights the evils (Hitler and Hirohito).
This comic was for children and it conveys the children this message : choose between the wrong and the good. It's to convince young people that the America is going to win the world.

  Les Etats-Unis sont entrés en guerre en Décembre 1941 suite à l'attaque de Pearl Harbor par les japonais. Cette affiche est produite l'été suivant. On peut supposer qu'elle incite le peuple américain à participer à la Seconde Guerre Mondiale, à combattre les ennemis, comme le fait Superman.
Il s'agit d'une affiche de propagande sous forme de bande dessinée. C'est par le biais d'un Super Héros que l'on va diffuser une idée: Superman.
En haut de l'affiche, en gros caractères, on observe le titre "Superman".
Il occupe le centre de l'affiche et on le voit trônant sur le monde. Il porte un costume bleu, rouge et jaune moulant qui laisse dévoiler sa musculature, ce qui accentue son côté invincible. De son bras droit, il soulève Adolf Hitler. On reconnait ce dernier car il porte un uniforme typiquement nazi (croix gammée, couleur...) et qu'il a une moustache. De son bras gauche il soulève Hirohito, le dirigeant japonais. On le reconnait parce qu'il porte une arme d'arts martiaux, un uniforme japonais et il est représenté avec les yeux bridés. Ils sont paniqués et inférieur à Superman par leur expression et leur position.
 Les couleurs sont vives, attirantes et symbolisent l'Amérique. Les ennemis sont caricaturés, ils sont ridiculisés.
 Le fond est jaune, et en dessous de Superman, on peut lire " world's greatest adventure-strip character" ce que l'ont peut traduire par "Le meilleur aventurier du monde".

Sur cette image, superman est un symbole, un exemple à suivre car il combat les « méchants » et sauve son pays avec héroïsme.
  Il incarne le bien aux couleurs des Etats-Unis, il donne une image patriotique.
Elle montre aux enfants qui sont leurs ennemis, invite à l'esprit patriotique et entretient ainsi la haine vis-à-vis des ennemis.
