Reason being why this was so important was because it ended slavery for good and freed many citizens that were enslaved. One person that made a huge impact and was a great leader was Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman was impactful because she was the brave conductor of the Underground Railroad, which helped slaves get to the north to escape slavery. Tubman helped over 300 slaves escape slavery, even though she was wanted for $40,000.
   Another influencer was Frederick Douglass. He was an escaped slave that became successful and powerful through his words more than action. He began a newspaper that was named the North Star, which was a inspirational antislavery newspaper. With writing his newspaper he was automatically a leader of the abolitionist movement with the respect he gained. This was impactful because this gave women more rights in all aspects such as voting and getting jobs without their husband around. One of the major leaders of this movement was Lucretia Mott which was a vocal activist on women's rights and slavery. She pushed for women to be equal and to be treated equally, especially when it comes to their husbands. She pushed for a better life for her as a women and for other women and daughters.
     The other major leader was Elizabeth Cady Stanton. She was also a vocal activist for women's rights and fought for wants right. Stanton and Mott came up with the great idea of the Seneca Falls Convention. This convention was huge because it fought for fair treatment and no laws against women in any way.
