Revolution= "go around something" it takes one year for the Earth to complete its revolution around the SUN.

Rotation= "to spin" Earth spins on its axis and it takes 24 hours to complete the rotation. This causes day and night.

Tilt of the Earth

Earth is tilted at 23.5 degrees. This allows Earth to have seasonal change.

Why we have SEASONS

As the Earth tilts away and towards the Sun, this causes temperature variations that create our seasons. When we are tilted toward the Sun, it is Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, when we are tilted away from the Sun, it is Winter.

As the Earth orbits the Sun, we receive different amounts of sunlight because of Earth's tilt. This causes Temperture change, which causes the change in seasons. When it is summer in the Norther Hemisphere, it is Winter in the Southern Hemisphere.
