This morning citizens found papers posted on walls everywhere. These papers contained 95 thesis of things that  should be changed about the church. Some of these include that salvation is achieved through faith, the bible alone is the only source of truth,  and that people can interpret the bible for them selves. Earlier this week, the Pope called Martin Luther into a private meeting located in the Vatican. Martin Luther was a man with a dream for his religion. His religion was being corrupted on the inside, so he created a completely new religion with similar but still different beliefs.Martin Luther named his religion Lutheranism which believed that the bible was the only source of truth in life. This religion called Lutheranism also believed that you didn't go to heaven or hell based on the large amount or small amount of good deeds that you did for the community, but how large your faith was in this god they speak of. Lutheranism was the first religion that didn't think that rituals would clear you of your sin, or make you right with god. In my view Martin Luther and his 95 thesis is that some of his belief might change the church for the better but others do not seem to be that helpful. For example if belief is all we need than most of the bibles teachings go to waste because if people believe in charity to the unfortunate but do not partake in it there is no point in it. Luther is right in the way that the church should not be so rich. Money from indulgences and other sales should be restricted to bare minimums of church necessities and charity to the poor.
