Books, presented and discussed by teachers, empower students to make change. It is pretty clear that those that want to maintain power are threatened by the change these books represent. So they instead, resort to fear tactics, very similar to the Nazis. In the case of the U.S., it is also a way of creating an issue that does not exist in order appear as if they have some profound position that others must follow in order to be saved. I am working at the Brog Center, and there is a wide range of children's literature available here. So I decided to see it with my own eyes. I do NOT see anything wrong with the cute gay penguin couple showing their PDA and wanting to have a baby penguin. This book reflects the realities of the gender fluid generation. This representation might be unfavorable for a conservative.
