There were about 12000 people that were sent to those camps. They lived in bad conditions and overcrowding occured in the camps.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>CIA plots tried killing Castro repeadedly but they kept failing miserably. It made USA look bad. </p><p>The Crisis occured when a USSR sub almost launched nukes, only one guy said no to not launching the nuke. They had the nuke ready to be launched. If the nuke was launched, it would have caused a nuclear war. Now a "hotline" was installed to prevent another catastrophe like this. Stanislav Petrov was the guy that prevented the nuclear was because he didn't press the button to shoot the nuke which would have caused a massive crisis for the entire world.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>October 4th 1957 the launch of "Sputnik" was the first satellite by USSR. The USA started fear of a technology gap. Spitnik 2 would launch a month later carrying a dog named "Lika" (She did not survive.) Yuri Gregarin was the first person in space.</p><p>USA created NASA. On July 20th 1969 Neil Armstrong was the first person on the moon. USSR cancels their own mission to the moon.</p><p>This led to the USR and USSR cooperating. This ended up being a friendly competition instead of a more toxic type of competition. The first man on the moon was a huge accomplishment for the world. Ever since then, technology has improved greatly because they are expecting to have the first man on Mars within the next decade.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
