The girls only think about themselves, money, and what is going to benefit them in a good way. They really care about money, however they don't work, so they only want to marry men with money so they can get everything they want. For example, “I adore it,” exclaimed Daisy. “That's pompadour! You never told me you had a pompadour-or a yacht.” (Pg.93). Daisy only cares about how much money people have then the actual people themselves. She is a girl who cares about money more than others, she is one who can only be happy with money.  The women care a lot about their reputation, so they surround themselves with wealthy people who also have good reputations. The Women, Jordan Baker in particular, responds to these conflicts by being the opposite. Rather than being dependent on their husbands for money, and just about everything, Jordan is forced to be independent because she is unmarried, and is very wealthy. Jordan Baker made all of her money herself and created an image of herself on her own, unlike the other women in this group. The strong divide between old money and new money is the main cause for why men in this group could be held back from achieving their unalienable rights. For example, neither group could really achieve the American Dream because those with old money will never truly be independent and self-reliant because they made their living off of their family's money, but new money can never be on the same level as those with old money depending on how they got there and the morals they used to get there. For instance in chapter 7, when they all go to Tom's apartment in the city, Gatsby and Tom get into a fight over the way they had gotten to where they are (Fitzgerald, 130-135). They both seem really insulted and broken that everything hasn't gone out the way they want. The businessmen tend to just throw more money on the problem hoping that it will fix itself. When do "I" get what I want? You will get what you want when you are willing to give everything you have to achieve it. In America, the success of an individual is limited and must come from some kind of work whether it is corrupt of legitimate. So in the Great Gatsby, most of the time the businessmen get what they want unlike the women, because most of the women don't work a day in their lives. 
2. How do I know what I want is the right thing? In the Great Gatsby, Daisy wants two things. She wants the man who she really loves, and she wants the man who has all of the money. Therefor, Daisy, and many other women in America are indecisive and don't now what they want is the right thing, until they get it. 
3. What makes someone desire something? When a person desires something or someone, their sense of longing is excited by the enjoyment or the thought of the item or person, and they want to take actions to obtain their goal. In the Great Gatsby, Daisy has a strong desire for love. Mainly for this reason she married Tom, instead of Gatsby. 
4. Who or what interferes with your success of reaching what you desire?  Your social class or your family ties could potentially stop you from reaching what you desire like the way Myrtle desires to be with a rich and wealthy man but her husband is working class and he doesn't get much work.
5. What does the majority of people want? Why?  A majority of people want success and wealth in all aspects of life with their reputation and with their business
