Although just a theory, many people speculated that the fall of one country to communism would lead to the rest being grouped up within it too. The escalation of U.S. troops within Vietnam only caused a costly, prolonged battle where thousands lost their lives. It affected how the U.S. traded with Southeast countries which all related to anti-communism.

This resolution passed on August 7, 1964, by the U.S. Congress effectively gave President Johnson the military power to control Southeast Asia without declaring war. this move significantly signaled the U.S. involvement in the war and resulted in an escalation of U.S. military action. It marked a shift in the U.S. foreign policy due to giving the president that much more military power.

Doves, not the birds, are people who are against the Vietnam War and prefer for the U.S. to stay out of Southeast Asia's conflicts. These people advocated for peace and how it was morally wrong; they ranged from hippies to politicians. They shaped a large portion of how the public and society felt about the Vietnam War. Widespread anti-war protests broke out from streets to colleges and eventually led to the U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam. They saved countless lives and money from being burned in the war which played a significant effect.

Agent Orange had one goal in mind, being one of the most devastating herbicides and defoliant during the war. Used by the U.S. military from (1961 to 1971), this served its purpose of countering the forest cover and crops that the Viet Cong and Vietnamese forces used to hide. Besides killing all the plants and nature in the hit areas, it also affected humans either with death or birth defects. The highly toxic component, dioxin, poses legal health and environmental challenges.

They advocated for more aggressive military action which ended up influencing political decisions causing an influx of extensive force used.

This was enacted in 1973 marking the willing end of U.S. military exposure in Vietnam. President Nixon, the man in charge did this in response to the public opinion on the abuse of presidential power during the Vietnam War. Its main aim was the ensure that the checks and balances are being followed properly and that one doesn't overpower another. The main effect was that now the president needed to tell Congress within 48 hours of deployment of military forces and only allowed a limit of 60 days before Congress needed to give its approval. It marks a time when a significant rebalance was made as an attempt to maintain the war powers between Congress and the president.
