         <description><![CDATA[<div>•In 2002, it became evident that the Iberian lynx was critically endangered with there being less than 100 lynxes left in the wild.<br>• The current population is estimated to be less than 100.&nbsp;<br>• The factors causing the endangerment are hunting and habitats being destroyed by wildfires.&nbsp;<br>• With the lynx population declining, there has been an increasing in the population of rodents.<br>• Some conservation projects have introduced them back into the environment and endorsed breeding projects. They are legally protected.&nbsp;<br>• Lynxes are located in Spain and other places in Europe. </div>]]></description>
