We're such a happy pair,
That it isn't right, no, it isn't fair
To all those other boys I gave the air...

So, Daddy, let me stay out late
For tomorrow is our wedding date
Let the Baby kinda celebrate
Kiss the boys goodbye

Daddy, let me wear the mink
What's the difference what the neighbours think
Let the Baby linger on the brink
Oh, kiss the boys goodbye

And while I'm kissing them sentiment'ly
Keep the liberal point of view
Because I'm breaking it to them gently
That my heart belongs to you

So, Daddy, please remember this
That tomorrow starts a life of bliss
Let me show them what they're gonna miss
Kiss the boys goodbye

The song to me is about a girl who is about to get married and she wants her daddy to let her go out one more night. She wants to do this so she can kiss all the other boys goodbye, as in she's taken and off the market. I also think it could mean that she wants to kiss all the boys goodbye before they all go off for the war. It relates to the war because one of the lyrics says "let me show them what they're going to miss", which I think means what they will miss when they're away at war.

This song to me is about a girl who is almost going to get married but there is a bunch of other boys that still like her. These boys are going off to war and on there last night in before going off to war she wants to "show them what they are going to miss. It relates to the war because many people had to say goodbye to their loved ones.

The song relates to the war because, the lady wants to kiss the boys goodbye because it's understood that they probably wont come back and if they do it could be in a bad condition, and so she wants to give them one last kiss goodbye before they go off to war.

To me, this song is understood that the girl is essentially kissing the men goodbye before they go off to war. This relates to war because women had to say goodbye to their soul mates as they went off to war, and that was one way they did so.

The song that we chose fits with world war II because the main singer of the song sings "kiss the boys goodbye" which is what family and friends are doing. Kissing the boys goodbye to war but the sweet up beat sound in the song makes it sound like a nice goodbye not such a bad thing that they are leaving. This video shows that she is kissing brothers, cousins and possibly her husband goodbye to war.
