The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) has announced the types/brands of five syrup medicines said to contain EG, DEG and EGBE above the safe threshold. They are Termorex Syrup (fever medicine, Flurin DMP Syrup (for cough and flu), Unibebi Cough Syrup (cough and flu), Unibebi Fever Syrup (fever), and Unibebi Fever Drops (fever). 

Based on the data released by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), there are 12 types of symptoms of acute kidney failure in children. A total of 10 symptoms are categorized as prodromal symptoms. Meanwhile, two other symptoms are typical symptoms of this disease, namely anuria (no urine output) and oliguria (little urine production).

Fever is the most common symptom found in pediatric acute kidney failure patients, which is 84 percent of the total cases. Then followed by nausea (54 percent), and loss of appetite (51 percent).

For typical symptoms, the discovery of cases of anuria reached 29 percent of the number of cases of acute kidney failure. Meanwhile, cases of oliguria were found in 40 of the 241 cases reported at that time, or 17 percent.

On October 26, 2022, data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health showed that around 61% of pediatric patients had stage three acute kidney failure and 58% of previous patients died at the same stage. In addition, national hospital data noted that patients' most common initial symptoms were high fever, nausea, and loss of appetite.
