Societies can have a positive influence on people, especially in their teen years. There are different punishments, and different rules made for teen crimes. For example, if a teen steals, it can result in jail time. This makes a teen think twice before stealing. Another example is the saying "treat others just as you want to be treated." This makes people think twice when doing or saying anything mean or outside of the social values. There are also negative effects, such as negative influencing the people they surround and encourage/pressure them to do bad things with them.

Once, my friend was running late to school, and I was in the car with her. She would speed whenever she had the chance and he would get really close to the car in front of her. This one time, the guy in front of her slammed his breaks, and so she slammed her breaks too. She was so close to hitting the car in front of her and getting hit by the car behind her. The year after, that same friend and I were in the car with her cousin who her just gotten her learning temps. Her cousin was getting really close to the car in front of her. My friend told her cousin to slow down and increase the space between that car and her car. She told her the story of us almost hitting the back of that car.
