I voted for PAP as members of the PAP had plans for SG in the future and they knew what they were doing such as merging with malaysia so that we could gain help from them as we were poor at that time and gaining immediate independance.
They also had plans to eliminate colonialism from SEA as they were aware that colonialism were out of date.

I voted for PAP as I feel that Singapore in 1955 really needed help in their lifestyle as some of them did not even had a proper house to live in and had poor living conditions. Others did not had enough pay from their jobs to make a living.Thus, PAP would help to remind the British to focus on the local's needs and would finally create a change in their lifes and end their misery, this is the reason why i chose them.

I voted for PAP as they feel that everybody is crucial in the election including the support of workers, trade unions and students in the Chinese-medium schools so it means that PAP respects everybody and feels they are all important in the country.

I voted for PAP as i believe that we should get our independance immediately from the british who could not defend us and merge with Malaya so we could both benefit from each other and we would less likely be attacked by other countries. I also voted for them as many people in Singapore from all walks of life can benefit from them.

I Chose PAP because the locals wanted more power over Singapore and PAP members consists of locals. Us, the locals also hated the british as they left us during the war and PAP was against British colonial rule. PAP could help singapore get immediate independence through uniting singapore with malaya

I voted for PAP because PAP is a multi-racial party and it can show that they respect one another even though they are in different religions. PAP treated the locals and others equally. They wanted Singapore to be independence and wanted to gain more support from the workers, trade unions and students in the Chinese-medium schools to get elected into government.
