Men have been more likely than women to hold positions of power. This remains true even in the modern word. There still are differences in levels of domination. These patriarchal institutions are responsible for the inferior status of women like me. Many still believe that men are to be in control. It is also the root cause of women’s subordination. We do not have to just accept that there are some problems in the world that will be impossible to be eliminated. I would rather not. Watching by the sideways when seeing someone’s rights being violated and doing nothing is just as bad as the act of violating itself.  There are numerous ways for us to prevent it from happening. We all have a role to play. We have to address the root causes of violence, respond to the needs of those affected by it, and have those guilty of committing such acts accountable by supporting legislation and enforcement against violence.
