There are eight different Parents Plus Programmes for parents and young people, which are usually run as 6-12 week courses. The parenting courses are largely run free of charge or at a minimal cost to those attending. These programmes are delivered by trained facilitators through local services - such as; local Parent Hub, Family Resource Centre, Youth and other family support services many of whom run Parents Plus programmes in person and online.

These days add up quickly. As a result of casual non-attendance there is a real risk that many of our children and young people will not achieve their full potential from education.

In fact, 1 in 5 students in primary and post-primary schools are missing a month or more of their school year.

Encouraging school attendance is within the power of everyone in a student’s life. When a child or young person can go to school, they should go to school. Every school day is a new day and a new opportunity for everyone to actively encourage school attendance.

ADHD IRELAND DEIS SCHOOL PROGRAMME 2025/6 Registration

Food Without Borders is a 66-page, full-colour cookbook featuring recipes from 27 countries around the world – one for each letter of the alphabet, plus a traditional Irish recipe.

Alongside each recipe, readers will find stories of the journeys the cooks and their families have undertaken to arrive in Ireland, and of their time here so far.

The cookbook was created by and for home cooks, and the intention is for schools and families throughout Ireland to learn from other cultures while experimenting with cooking the dishes.

Traditional recipes are conveyed using ingredients readily available in Ireland. With delicacies such as Congolese fumbwa (a spinach stew), Qatari Legemat (sweet fried dumplings), and Venezuelan Arepas con Perico (crispy savoury pastries), there are plenty of dishes to explore and something for everyone to enjoy.

The 2026 festival will run from Sunday the 27^th September to Saturday the 3^rd October and dlr County Council invites all community and voluntary groups, organisations, charities, clubs, associations etc to organise events in your community this year during the festival.

Parents and guardians seeking a special class or special school placement for September 2027 should complete the Parents Notify form by 1 September 2026 and submit supporting reports by 15 September 2026.

The NCSE ask schools and professionals to help spread the word to families who may require a special class or special school place for the 2027/28 school year.

Key messages to share with your school community:

• Apply early: The deadline is 1 September 2026.

• Don't wait for reports: Parents should submit the notification form now—supporting documents can follow by 15 September.

• Mandatory step: An NCSE Eligibility Letter is required before a school can formally offer a specialist placement.

Once the form and supporting information are received, the local SENO will review the information and provide guidance.
