Why I took this course: Its a pre requisite, I also do enjoy history. The area I live in has this historical story called the tragedy of crystal lake that I always found interesting.

I have been at LCC for 3 years.

I took this course because I enjoy learning about history and I am also going to be majoring and teaching history.

One thing that I have done in my life that I don't think anyone is this class has done before is that I have hiked all over Michigan and a couple places in Tennessee!

I chose this course to understand the struggles and contributions of Africans and Americans more deeply. One unique thing I have done is captaining a soccer team through a winless season, which taught me resilience and leadership.

I am currently taking classes at Lansing Community College this summer, and in the fall I will be attending Michigan State University. My major is Pre-Law with a minor in Business Law. I have been in college for about two years.

I decided to take this history course because it fulfills a degree requirement and because I think understanding history helps explain many of the issues and events we see in the world today.

One thing I have done that I think may be unique is that I am working toward applying for Michigan State University’s 3+3 Law Program, which would allow me to begin law school before completing the traditional four years of undergraduate study.

major: Allied Health- transfer to MSU in spring for Biochemistry.

3 years of college

I took this course because it was the most interesting of the History classes offered that I needed to satisfy the transfer requirement. I am excited to look at American history through a different lens and gain a better understanding of things Ive always just memorized random facts about.

I am probably not the only person to ever accomplish this, but, early in the spring semester, I came down with Guillain-Barre syndrome. The odds are about 1:100,000 and I was hospitalized and unable to move for about three weeks. I spent the majority of the time in intensive inpatient physical rehab learning how to walk and do mundane day to day tasks. I had physical and occupational therapy, each, twice a day, every day and continued twice a week for both the duration of the semester. When I returned to campus, I was caught up by spring break in all of my courses and achieved 4.0 in all but one class, which I missed by a percentage point.

The reason I took this class was to boost my GPA and because it seems like an interesting subject to review and dive into. Though I should not I'm only on my first year.

I currently work in a Catering Company a couple blocks down from the Downtown LCC location, and honestly I just hope I don't fail this class. Thank you.

Hello, my name is Eliza Palinski, and I will be going into my sophomore year at GVSU in the fall. My major is social work with a minor in criminal justice. I am taking this class to fulfill my prerequisites, but also because I found the course description very interesting. One thing that I have done that I think most people haven't is that I went on a study abroad trip to Germany and got to go to school and experience everyday life as they do.

I am majoring in human services and am still trying to narrow down which direction I want to go with that! I have been in college for a little over a year now. I took this course because it was required, but also because history has always interested me; it's always been a class I did well on in high school. One thing that I have done that I don't think anyone else in the class has done was get a picture with Ross Lynch, he played the main role in a Disney show called Austin and Ally and now has a band with his brothers that I really enjoy!

Hi everyone!!! My name is Emilee Mertens and I am going into my second year of college at LCC. My major here at LCC is General Associates, but I will be transferring over to MSU to complete my Bachelors degree in either Zoology or Animal Science. After my Bachelors degree is complete I plan to attend Vet school!!! I am taking this class because like I said before I am at LCC for my General Associates so I needed a History class but I also find History very interesting. Lastly, One thing that I do that I think not a lot of other people have is go to NYC every year for Christmas!

Hey all! I am currently a physics major at LCC through high school dual enrollment. Next year I am attending Hope College to continue physics and also try out some biochemistry. I am taking this class to finish my degree and because it sounded the most engaging out of my options. One thing I have done that I don't think anyone else here has is climb a rock wall with only one hand.

I'm in the aviation technology program.

This is my first year in college.

Why I took this course - I would like to expand my knowledge and overall understanding of U.S. history, and the factors that have shaped this country over the years. I am interested in learning more about the truth of United States history, with the injustices and struggles that shape culture throughout.

Something I've done - Went on a global leadership program in which I had the opportunity of giving care packages to the local Hawaiian community that struggled with loss as a result of the fires, as well as learning about their culture and history.
