1. cough syrup and tablets containing dextromethorphan give an europhoria feeling making you feel detached from your body.
2. A single high dose of DXM causes hallucinations.
3. Codeine which is found in some cough syrups attaches to the same cell receptors of heroin
4. overuse causes a slower heart rate and breathing which can kill you
5. Dextromethorphan or DXM can be gotten in pills, tablets, and injections and is often misused with alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs.
6. If overdosed on Dextromethorphan their breathing slows down and not let enough oxygen to the brain causing hypoxia. hypoxia is not getting enough oxygen to tissues and can leads to permanent brain damage.
7. There are no drugs that can treat an addiction of DXM or Loperamide.
8. when misusing DXM some people will mix with soda or other flavorings called "robo-tripping" or "Skittling"
9. When taken in large doses, DXM causes a depressant effect and sometimes a hallucinogenic effect, similar to PCP and ketamine.
10. A person who has overdosed needs immediate medical attention. Call 911. If the person has stopped breathing or if breathing is weak, begin CPR. DXM overdoses can also be treated with naloxone. naloxone is a drug to rapidly reverse opioid overdose
https://www.drugabuse.gov/drugs-abuse/over-counter-medicines
