In traditional Korean culture, boys are often privileged over girls. I saw this happen a lot when I visited my relatives as a child. My aunt would serve food to the my uncles and even my 8-year-old nephew before the women. When I talked to my parents about this, they agreed that this was an unfair and outdated tradition. I decided that I would teach my own children differently in the future.

My family's background is kinda odd, My grandmother on my moms side is fully German, and my grandfather is Italian. Somehow, I have zero Italian in me. Crazy right? Well, my grandfather is technically my mom's step father, so I am not blood related to my Italian grandfather At all!

I might be biased but the way I grew up was the best possible way to be brought up.

I didn't have a portable screen In-front of me at all times, especially when I was really young. Today's younger generation, Generation Alpha, consists of young kids addicted to a screen that has been shoved in their faces since they were really little. This being a clear indicator for the lack of empathy and social awareness within children. Which is crazy to me, how can we, as people, make this normal? Kids should be experiencing the world, talking with others, and laughing. Not being sat In front of a TV or given an Ipad to distract them.

Many people have done things that have brought me gratitude, I can't name one thing. But, if I had to, I would say that a handmade letter is one of my favorite gifts to receive from people.

I have no clue as to why I love letters, but something about them are just special, the way a person can string words on a page so beautifully spark a feeling of great fullness within me that nothing else can.

Honestly, going to therapy has led me to grow as a person, I'm not kidding, I think everyone should have a therapist. I remember going 4 years ago, back then I was a completely different person, almost unrecognizable to me now, I have worked through so many things over the years, I mean its not only going to therapy that have lead to personal growth, I would also say that I, myself, have lead to personal growth, from learning from the people around me, or from learning from something I have done in the past, is what lead to my growth over the years.

Books were once something I hated, feared almost. I couldn't focus long enough to be able to sit and read. But that was because I wasn't given a book that was for me. I fell in love with reading by a chance of picking up a random book who's title sounded cool, and BOOM, years later the idea of books brings me so much joy. Someone tells me about a cool library they found? I need to go see it. Someone has read the same book I have? You best believe I'm talking to that person for the next few hours about the book. I can truly get lost in a good book.
