Explain. </div><div><br>Attempting to use booms and chemicals, conservationists attempted to clean up the oil spill, however much of the oil still remains in the ocean today. Much of the marine life was affected, polluting waters and contaminated many ocean species.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

Point source or non-point source? </div><div><br>Treatment water facilities near Camp Lejeune showed extreme levels of contamination including degreasers, cleaning solvent, and VOC’s. This was a non-point source as multiple sources of water were contaminated.</div><div><br>What effects did the pollution have on humans/environment? How was pollution cleaned up? Are there long-term effects? Explain. </div><div><br>The effects on humans showed drastic increases in cancers and other ailments. Even today, veterans previously stationed at Camp Lejeune are showing signs of increased cancer at astronomical rates. Soon the water treatment facilities were repaired and the problem was solved.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

Explain. </div><div><br>The increased levels in chemicals led to a series of inexplicable illnesses and widespread birth defects in families. This was caused by industries, non-point sources, dumping waste into the water, heavily polluting so much that oil kept the fire burning for half an hour. </div><div><br>What effects did the pollution have on humans/environment? How was pollution cleaned up? Are there long-term effects? Explain. </div><div><br>After much regulation from congress, companies stopped polluting the river. Ohio has spent 3.5 billion to purify the river and build sewer systems. This caused accelerate bacteria growth which in turn created high oxygen demand, leaving the water with almost no oxygen for fish. </div><div><br>What effects did the pollution have on humans/environment? Explain. </div><div><br>The lack of oxygen has lead to no fish or organisms except for algae blooms to eb able to survive within those areas.
