Suggest you link the content to what you will be covering in class the next day or soon. Share levelled content- I mean content of at least 3 different levels(length, amount of reading, more or less animated, more or less detail) so you can blend in all your learners

Educreations is a great app that allows you to make a movie to explain a concept. You can upload the movie for students to look at at home, then they are able to watch it as many times as they wish. This is similar to the Khan academy design of learning.

Flipped classroom is generally referred to as flipping the learning, so the reading or viewing is done at home, and then the students are ready to discuss the concepts once they are in class. It allows for more in depth discussions in class as the students have already previewed the topic/concept...if they have done their work!

Work, discussions and learning do not stop when a school day or a lesson is over. The learning is set in such a way that learning opportunities are expanded.
Work can be set in advance to expose material prior to a lesson
Material can be shared to match inquiries of learners or to expand their interest.
Before, during or after is always time for flipped experiences.
