Jack London, in his book “The Iron Heel” made sure to include many references to what he wanted in a socialist society. This means that he was against the hyper-conservative nature of the government of the time. This hyper-conservative government restricted the rights of the worker to control (or organize in) the factories. The futures of the workers were completely out of reach if they lacked this power. Jack London wanted the reader to understand that he wanted a better life for himself and his family.
