Certain pieces and composers under this style are considered sacred and inspire musicians all over the world. While listening to the radio station, some of the composers they play on this station include Haydn, Faure, Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, and much more. My experience while listening to the station was calming. The pieces I heard were very relaxing and interesting to listen to. I was able to focus on each element of the song in a different way than if I just listened passively. Attending one of the best music schools in the country, I always see students around campus carrying around instruments such as tubas, violins/violas, or flutes. When I sit in the music building to study, I always hear canonical type music echoing the halls. Throughout my padlet, you’ll find examples and quotes describing the Western art music canon and its influences.
