Longitudinal Study- Over time
Rate of attrition- the number of people who drop out of a study 
Confounding variable-Third variable- Extraneous variable - Sometimes not always planned for by the researcher. (If a kid is hungry or if they do not like marshmallows in the marshmallow experiment)
Random Assignment- randomly separating the kids to assigning to the control or experimental group

-It was unethical because of the brutal treatment that the guards gave the prisoners.
