Hello!

My name is Keely Mohn, and I am a 2018 graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. During my time at Westminster, I studied music education and took additional coursework in special education after inspiration from a summer job. I am a big advocate for inclusion, so you will see a variety of lesson plans contained in my portfolio. As someone who has worked in both special education and music classrooms, I believe that I can bring many new ideas to my classroom, regardless of the subject that I will be teaching. I believe that everyone is capable of learning, but it is up to the teacher to work to discover the ways a student can learn best. I am very excited for the opportunity to share my work with you!

Sincerely,

Keely Mohn

SmartBoard- In my life skills practicum setting, the students used the SmartBoard at their daily morning meeting. This required the students to identify their name and place it on the tree. They also had to create appropriate outfits based on the weather outside and create the date. I also like the use of GoNoodle to allow my students to dance and exercise their brains ("brainercise") while doing physical movements.

Communication Devices- Students used varying types of communication devices in their classroom. Before I taught lessons, I would program the devices with words relevant to the lesson that I was teaching so the students could contribute.
