We also looked at how Covid is altering the supply and demand of goods and services throughout the world. In the design challenge they had to use provided materials to design, build, and test a stand that could hold any cell phone both vertically, and horizontally. Other design constraints included being able to charge phone and take pictures while the phone was in the stand.
We have also started our 3D modeling unit. Additionally, we were live on Zoom with our preschool children 5 days a week teaching and interacting with the children. We had a wonderful time hosting a Live Trick or Treat Parade outside HPHS to watch the preschool children trick or treat at designated stops all dressed up in Halloween costumes! Additionally, we created a Giving Thanks Thanksgiving Pick Up that provided the children with gratitude notes and activities to do over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Finally, students have created Holiday Lessons to share with the Preschool children that will result in a corresponding Holiday Gift Bag Pick Up from the preschool families. Students have actively planed and participated in ways to keep the children involved and engaged all semester long. Collage dance class (Dance IV) has created, and performed their first piece that was recorded by HPTV superstars! Collage is now heading towards dance show season, collaborating together on a new dance project together!
Dance classes are in the midst of choreography projects, synthesizing the work that we have done in class. MadCap (our extracurricular group) has met one evening a week since September to learn holiday repertoire, and record that, so that we could create a "Holiday Cheer" recording to send out to families and community. Swing Choir and Chorale have put together recordings to contribute to GrandGIANTs Day and the Charity Drive opening assembly, and one of our seniors sang the National Anthem for the HP Veterans Day Ceremony.
