Have you ever wondered what the conjuring universe is like? If so, don’t miss the supernatural masterpiece of James Wan’s “The conjuring series”. Lately, due to my upcoming exam, I haven’t watched any films expect for one, the newly released movie, “The Conjuring (The last rite)”. What makes this film even more gripping and terrifying is that it’s based on real-life haunting of Smurl family in Pennsylvania. The movie revolves around paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warrens, their daughter Judy, and an antique mirror demon. Although the Warrens contemplating retirement due to Ed’s health and Judy’s safety, the demon baits them with the case of Smurl family who are haunted by the three evil spirits and need the Warrens to complete their last rite. The lighting and sound throughout the movie also create the feeling of creepiness, with a touch of tragic intimacy. The film is a cinematic masterpiece of a horror movie that earns its scares through chilling atmosphere, psychological and physical dread, and an appealing narration. As a fan of horror, I consider it as a must watch movie. If you’re a terror enthusiast, I bet you will definitely be fond of it.

"NO STAR CAN SHINE WITH A BROKEN HEART"

The headline “NO ONE CAN SHINE WITH A BROKEN HEART”, which is a line Yvaine (the star) says in the movie, stayed in my mind. Last night, while watching "Stardust", I felt like I stepped out of the movie and into real life. If you are a fan of fantasy and adventure, I definitely recommend it. Story is about two different countries: one is magical, and the other is England, where ordinary people live. There is a wall which separated them. At the beginning, Tristan’s father crossed to the other side, met Tristan’s mother who was the king's missing daughter and later Prince Tristan was born. When he grew up, he promised to bring a fallen star to Victoria, the girl he loves. What a surprise! The star was actually a young woman named Yvaine. At the same time, a necklace that belongs to the king’s heir also fell, and Yvaine took along with her. Tristan set out to take Yvaine to Victoria, but along the way they faced a witch who wants Yvaine’s heart for eternal youth, and princes who fight for the necklace. Through their adventure, Tristan and Yvaine fell in love and with that kind of love, the witch was defeated. As the title, they proved that love could shine brightly enough to overcome the darkness, and the film ended happily.

I watched Wednesday season 2 last week. It is a supernatural mystery television series. I watched season 1 in 2022 and I had been waiting for season 2. In episode 1, it is touching and fast paced. Moreover, the plots are very compelling. I binge watched the whole series. All the main characters and supporting actors are extremely talented at their roles . I liked Wednesday a lot in season 1 however I like Agnes more in season 2. Her character is poor but truly amazing.Furthermore, her acting skills are outstanding. Most of the scenes move quite quickly so I had to pause again and again. I give 10 out of 10 for this series. I totally believe, you can gain a lot of insights. It highlights the trust and importance of family and friendships. After finishing season 2, I felt deeply satisfied and am waiting for season 3.

Who could strongly deny that they are not fed up with watching Myanmar films? It is widely believed that cliché from those films cannot earn much interest of cinephiles. However, it is not completely true and there are still underrated films in that stereotyped industry.

“Now and Ever”, one of the Myanmar films that I could not hold back my tears, did really live up to my expectation. Its plots and scenes are still going in my mind until now without giving much effort to memorize them. The film is about Wutt Mhone (Paing Pho Thu) who is suffering from psychosis is falling in love with Thiha (Zenn Kyi) who is trying to become a psychologist. It is not just about a love story but it also portrays how both of them face more challenges than other couples. Christina Kyi, a talented female director of this film, had succeed in capturing the audience’s attention till the end.

This film will definitely give you the turbulence of emotions since you watch the trailer. I can guarantee that the questions you would like to ask yourself about love will emerge from watching this film.

As a Chinese teacher, I always have to improve my skills. I use most of the method but from my perspective, watching Chinese movies or series is the most brilliant way to level up my language skills. My favorite genre is Chinese Historical Drama. I have been watching them since I was very young. Among all of them, I enjoy watching Love Game In Eastern Fantasy. Although there are 32 episode, I watched twice. It got 9.5 out of 10. I haven't got so addicted to a show like I do with this one. It is about the time travel series to an ancient world, where the actress has to solve the puzzles and makes the actor fall in love with her to return to her real world. I enjoy so much about their facial expression that are intense and overwhelming. In my personal opinion, I absolutely love this show. It gives us a lot of emotions. If you really like strong acting, emotional depth, gorgeous production, and fantasy series, I recommend to everyone.

A drama you would look back on in your life with tears

I saw the trailer of this drama years ago. I hesitated so many times to watch because I thought it would be boring. One day, I decided to watch it as it has really high rating, and I wonder why. Then, I realized that it isn’t just a drama, it’s a masterpiece. It has 20 episodes and I fell in love with from the 1st episodes. The story is simple, it’s about family, friendship and romance, but it was well written and directed. There are five families in Ssangmundong,a neighborbood of Seoul, who are more like one big family. The main characters, four boys and a girl, who grew up together in that neighborhood, were first introduced as immature, youthful and reckless kids and their story is vibrant As it set on 80s, it’s really interesting to watch how they spent their times without having phones and modern technologies. Also, the actors who played them have brilliant comical acting of 10/10, although they were rookies at that time, but now they are big stars. The point is that you will experience melancholy by the development of the characters about how they become mature episode by episode. Even the support roles have wonderful developments. There are many characters but the show will familiarize you with them. Another exhilarating thing is with whom will the female lead end up with. It made viewers feel ambiguous and the truth revealed at ep-18 was unexpected and deplorable but also got “Well he deserved her better” feeling at the same time. The show taught me the lessons about we shouldn’t hesitate to express our love whether to parents or between lovers. When all of them leave from the neighborhood left one by one, I felt like I was still left. I’m not dramatic but this show gave dual feelings like laughing and crying in every single episode.
