Arrival
I arrived at the venue just after doing my hair and make up at 5:30 pm, i had a hard time finding the venue as i have never been there before. I called Yoana who was already in the venue from 2 pm to help set up and she picked me up from the Morrisons nearby and directed me to the venue. Once i arrived i had given Chris my USB stick which had a PA version of both songs Vimming and Backwards. and then we briefly did a sound check of both songs.

Food
so me, Ismael, Yoana and Shannon went to the local market around 6 pm,  i got food from the Asian cuisine stop and bought my food along with a bottle of water. we then swiftly arrived back at the venue and ate and watched as they went through the lighting

Set List and Class Meeting
As time for doors to open was nearing, we had a class meeting which was held by Yoana, Discussing the set list and order of the show, the interval and how long it will be. We were informed of where we should place our personal items which was a small section on the side of the stage behind the curtains as there was no backstage area like last time.

The Show
so we then kicked off the show right on time at 7:30 pm  starting with Ismael and Yoana's Duet which was the song  '2 am ' which was written and composed by both Yoana and Ismael,  i performed two songs, i was the last performer before the interval so i also announced the interval. Before the interval i performed Backwards and after the interval i should have started off with Vimming but i went after divine's song which she performed again from the 1st set prior to the interval. Archie was the chosen host of the night which i think was the best decision as he kept the audience entertained and grabbed their attention throughout the show. 

After The Show

After the show we packed up and left the venue, we went out for drinks afterwards to celebrate the hardships and the obstacles we overcame this year. no videos were taken by others of the performance. It wasn't very clear on the maps and i spent  quite a while looking for it and then i called Yoana to help me find it.
I think if i had not left the college at a decent time to arrive at the venue i would have missed out more time for my sound check  than i already did.

Lesson Learned
In future i think i should visit the venue before the performance date to get a feel and view of the venue.

There were a few  things that didn't go to plan even through it ran very smoothly such as:

1. Set list wasn't properly reviewed
2. Divine performing twice
3.  people we invited didn't arrive on time


1.  On the night we had a team meeting before performing and letting the audience in,  in this team meeting we discussed the set list that was pre-written on paper and due to lack of communication between each other there was no knowledge  of how many songs each person was performing. I was dissatisfied that they forgot i was doing two songs and was placed last before the interval with two contrasting songs so i suggested that i do one song before the interval and announce the interval and another song after the interval to kickoff the second set as both songs are quite contrasting and it made sense to have 'Backwards' first as the first set of the performance was quite slow and chilled and then perform 'Vimming' for the second set as the second set was very upbeat and active.

2.  Divine performed two songs one with a tagged backing track and another with graham. i really liked her songs however i took note (for future purposes) of the fact that the track she used still had its YouTube producer tag  on it and made her performance i little distracting. However during the interval i was told Divine would perform her song with Graham again to start off the second set as her father arrived late and missed her performance. I was okay with it however i thought the reasoning was very unprofessional  and was slightly disappointed as it caused a little mishap on the energy of the second set.

Lesson Learned

Things happen and how we handle it is up to us and in future i would take it as professionally as i did on the night, move on and let the show continue in order to run smoothly with enthusiastic energy.

3. Due to some of the audience not arriving on time, there were a few distractions when they entered the venue and that caused a few of the performers to get a little distracted and uncomfortable on the night.

Lesson Learned

I think we should have waited a little till everyone was seated and the venue was filled to a decent amount before performing.

Maybe in the promotion of the event  if we discuss arrival time and suggestions on how to get to the venue and on time we would have a lot more people in the venue before the first set began.

Lesson learned

We had a few underage children who came to watch the performance and for that, a few of us had to rethink our lyrics. We also had a few people who were quite of age which was okay but we were unsure if our music of choice would suit their tastes. therefore having a few of us feeling slightly uncomfortable. However we decided to go with what we knew and spent weeks rehearsing and continued the show swiftly giving warning signs to the audience on the explicit language in the songs.

Lesson Learned

If we worked more on the promotion and added more information of the expectations and age limit of the venue and the event then this could have been avoided. 
in future i think promotion is something to really think about as i feel we did not really place enough of our attention into the promotion which is a key part and something we could have easily done providing that there are 16 students on the course. So that's something i have definitely taken note on for future reference.

And that cause slight confusion when announcing the next artists.

Lesson Learned

If the set list we made during the class meeting had stayed the same without accepting changes we would have grown accustomed to the set list and had been fully rehearsed and prepared for the night of the showcase.

Although everyone was going through their personal dramas of life we managed to motivate one another through though love pep talks and reminders.

Most definitely would also do everything that i had noted down differently with the lessons learned.

I felt in comparrison to last year,  there was a slight lack of support from the tutors and due to that lack of support it was hard to steer the show into a positive light making everyone a little negative.

This also made the coursework quite confusing and hard to do as we were given course work with no explanation on how to do it or an explanation that was not very clear therefore we were working through our instincts.

Lesson Learned

We are old enough and have received enough practise and lessons on how to organise an event and i think we should have pestered our tutors a bit more and discussed this with them when they were here.

Chris who used to be our technician and a little help from the new teacher Graham helped get things back on track and with their teaching and support and preservearance the show got its faith back and everyone started to come in including myself and work hard on the show each day we had left.]]> 2019-07-06 23:14:19 UTC https://padlet.com/mbeka/kskqia24yver/wish/370393611 mbeka https://padlet.com/mbeka/kskqia24yver/wish/370393960 So during my weeks of working at studio and on the website and working and trying to come to school on time i found out i was 5 weeks pregnant, which did take an emotional toll on me as i felt i had alot on my plate already and it caused a lot of issues for not only my family but also my reltaion and studio time. suffering from nausea, lack or breath and constant tire, i feel as though this drained my energy and averted my attention from the project as a whole for a while.

i feel as though i became quite unprofessional as i was unable to seperate personal life from school life and due to this depression i could not ask for help from others and suffered alone for a while.

Lesson learned

in the future it wouldn't hurt to ask for support when going through a difficult time as i have learned this year, stuff happen that are sometimes unavoidable and the best thing to do is ask for support when you need it. which i did later on, i spoke to my student adviser Faye Tilyard and i felt so much better and sh did give some recommendations on places to go and what to do. and i felt understood. We felt as though without a venue we couldn't start the planning and promotion of the show so it led people astray and focused on their personal issues more than the show.
