Firewall use: Firewall is already installed and turned on automatically in Windows.
2. Update Software: turn on automatic updates in Windows to keep Windows, Microsoft Office, and other applications updated. In addition to this, turn on automatic updates for non-Microsoft software, like browsers, Adobe Acrobat Reader.
3. Antivirus use: The market offers many anti-virus software, they periodically scan computer for presence of viruses, also they scan emails for viruses. It is essential to keep anti-virus program updated in order for it to work properly.  
4. Password choice:
 *Formulating an appropriate password is an essential step, a good password would be of reasonable length, and contain different characters. 
*Do not include personal information like name, date of birth, telephone number in passwords.
* Do not make a series of similar letters or numbers your password. 
* Keep passwords secure by not sharing with family members, friends. 
* Change password periodically. 
* Do not use the same password for different accounts. 
5. Avoidance of suspicious links and material:
 * Avoid unusual attachments which can be in the form of  spam emails, online advertisements, etc.
* Download applications, movies, music or other material only from trusted sources. 
* Use browser like Microsoft Edge, it blocks malicious sites and protects computer against harm. 
6. Use of reliable external devices: It is more secure to use external devices like USBs, flash drive from trusted sources.
7.
