The president used the 14th amendment Section 1 in his argument because he thought that by the governor of Arkansas calling the national guard to keep the little rock 9 out of central high was denying them equal protection of law because in the ruling of brown v. board of ed, it says that segregation in schools is a violation of the 14th amendment equal protection of law.

Article 2 Section 2

The President used the Article 2 Section 2 in his arguments because in the Article 2 Section 2 it tells us that the Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States. In addition to how the President is the Commander in Chief, it states in the Article 2 Section 2 that "when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing." The President has the right to call in armed forces wherever and whenever he wants to but he needs a reason on why he called in armed forces. The reason for the President calling in forces to the Central High was to defend and protect the African-Americans going into the Central High.

Brown v. Board is the situation as the situation at Central High. In both cases people of color are going to an all white school. This case went to the supreme court and they decided that it was a violation of their 14th amendment. They decided this because the 14th amendment states ¨nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.¨ By the law the government needed to let the Little Rock 9 in the school and not keep the schools segregated just like they did for this case.

10th amendment

Fabus thought that he had the 10th amendment to prevent the Little Rock 9 to go to Central high. He thought this because it says "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people,". He used it by sending guards to keep the Little Rock 9 out of Central high.
