-Whats your favourite dish here?

Response: the 3rd generation stalls. Especially hokkien mee. Sons and daughters usually take over the stall for their parents.

-How is life back then?

Response:Peaceful, friendly and helpful. Some murders occured one of it is two brothers smuggling gold and got hanged by some people.

-How did this place look like in the past?

Response:Single story estates everywhere.

-How long have you been living here:

Response:70 years.

-what is your favourite memory of Serangoon gardens?

Response: all the neighbours are friendly and would always be willing to give/lend food and items to each other. Having the kampong spirit. the place is very safe.

Q2) How much has this place changed from then to now?

Ans: In the past, the houses or shops here were just ordinary small houses connected together.

Q3) Why did you decide to stay here instead of moving?

Ans: Because she lives with her family, she said that the neighborhood is very convenient and has everything she

need, including food courts, police stations, etc.

A lot of British staying here so there is a lot of bus very crowded those days, so many thing change.

The shop has been there from 1957 which is about 67 years.

Customer are normally people who lives around the neighborhood.

They try to sell as many thing as they can, keep the price low and open long hours from 8am to 6pm.

The most popular medicine that they sell is the soup. It is very easy and simple to cook as we just need to open it up and add some meat to cook.

Favourite memory would be when there is the bus terminal there as it very crowded and there are little shop like street food. It use to have last time.

Usually they have customer of all age from baby to elderly is their customer, they never change in their profiles.

They feel that the future of Serangoon Garden is very good, it getting better and better because there keep renovate and build so it getting better.

They feel that the residents are very friendly.
