Connection: The pseudoscience red flag that this website follows is Confirmation Bias. A lot of the evidence that this website uses shows the facts that prove the reasons why the Shroud of Turin is the linen burial cloth of Jesus Christ. It may be subtle, but the evidence that they present goes in favour of believers as it is a Christian website. An example of the websites bias is in the section that talks about the things science cannot explain which is why the only other explanation would be that it is Jesus' burial cloth. The problem with this is that 1. It does not provide evidence that counters the argument (i.e, all the things religion cannot explain). 2. They do not elaborate on all the things science has proved that has either discredited or proved religious arguments. Connection: This image follows the reason for belief Agenticity. The reason why is because the shroud was immediately assigned to have religious connotations to it - especially because of the time period where it was found when the religious culture was running rampant. Even though there hasn't been any solid proof that can confirm the identity of who the shroud belonged to Jesus Christ is the agent used to solidify the belief. This photo progression is an attempt to continue to prove this theory by placing the images side by side we then continue to associate the similarities between the face in the shroud and the face of Jesus Christ. Connection: The reason for belief that connected to this video would be Unexplained. Throughout the video the narrator presents a number of theories but that is exactly what they are: theories. He gives facts and evidence that could explain the validity of the Shroud of Turin being Jesus burial cloth but at the end of the day nothing is one hundred percent conclusive. For example, he talks about an instance shortly after the Shroud was found where an unknown artists claimed that he painted the Shroud as a replica to look like Jesus which would falsify any claims that believed it was a real burial cloth bearing the face of Christ. A lot of skeptics talk about this instance when trying to prove that the Shroud of Turin is not real because it causes doubt. However, the mans claims could never be proven. Connection: The following pseudoscience red herring connects to this article because it brings in another historical relic to authenticate the other when there is little evidence to prove it and distracts from the fact that scientifically neither of these relics have actually been authenticated. They both go based off the AB blood type found on the cloth as a manner to try and prove their validity but this is red herring tactic because is distracts from the actual point that the evidence lacks on both ends. Connection: This image connects to pseudoscience red flag suppression by authority. In 1390 when the Shroud was first discovered it came with immediate backlash not from skeptics from Christianity but from the church itself. The Bishop declared that the Shroud was not a true relic and criticized the Lirey church who first had it on display for collecting money from people to see it on display. In his statement the Bishop said that it could continue to be displayed as long as it was not recognized as a relic but an icon and if it was described to be man-made instead of the authentic burial shroud of Christ. Connection: The pseudoscience red flag that this video connects to is Proof by verbosity. While the author presents many facts to try and prove that both faith and science align to conclusively say that the Shroud of Turin belonged to Jesus Christ it is clear that he uses a lot of words and takes up a lot of space in the video to try and prove his point when there are a number of holes in his theories. More than that, he does not present his ideas as theories but rather hard facts that have actually been disproven through science. For example, he brings up the DNA testing and carbon dating and presents this as evidence that confirms the body of the man to be Jesus Christ however nowhere in scientific testing has this claim been made. In fact, there is technically no scientific proof anywhere that claims Jesus Christ even actually existed and this is not due to lack of faith but a lack of record keeping from hundreds of centuries ago. They didn't exactly have social insurance numbers. Moreover, a lot of the DNA testing done on the shroud came back inconclusive for a number of different things, so while blood DNA was found they could not test it against anything else to prove who it belonged to. Also, a lot of carbon dating evidence suggests that the shroud was from a lot earlier than Jesus' time period so this could also disprove the Shroud validity entirely. Connection: This extremely powerful recreation of Jesus's burial follows the reason for belief Emotional Connection.The death of Jesus Christ is extremely impactful in Catholic and Christian religions. Jesus' sacrifice is the one thing that continues to strengthen the faith in believers because they look at Jesus' sacrifice as the ultimate show of his and Gods unconditional love for us. This image depicts the mourning of his loved ones around him as they bury him in the linen cloth before putting them in the tomb. The image personifies the Shroud of Turin as not just having the face of the man but it allows us to visibly see it before it became the phenomenon that it was but as just a cloth that they wrapped the dead body of christ in. Placing it in this painting appeals to the emotional connection for the belief because it is closely associated with Jesus' death and sacrifice. Connection: The following video follows the reason for belief Simplicity. The reason for the belief in the Shroud if often because it begs the question who else could it be? Science offers a complicated answer which requires a number of tests, recreating, concrete evidence that involves coming to a sound scientific conclusion in order to prove its validity. all of these things combined still cannot conclusively answer the question. Religion relies on one simple thing alone and that is faith. Whether or the Shroud of Turin is tested and retested religious believers gather that it is Jesus' burial cloth simply because it aligns with their faith and they do not need science the answer the questions that faith already does. A lot of believers hear skeptic criticisms but that does not sway them away from their belief. Conclusively the evidence can never be explained that could either say the cloth was used to bury the crucified body of Jesus Christ or if it belongs to a random man from long ago. Religious believers use their faith to draw their conclusions and believe in the validity of the cloth despite scientifically evidence. Science takes an approach to try and prove religious claims but still a cloth that has faced centuries of damage can only tell so much. 
1. What I learned from this research and what surprised me the most was the cloth is not an original but a recreation because the original was damaged in a fire. 
2. This topic is relevant to me because I believe in Jesus and have spent a lot of my life believing that the shroud of Turin was factually and scientifically the face of Jesus Christ. 
3. I found it interesting that the Bishop did not believe it because I expected the church to be all for it from the very beginning but he was skeptical. 
5. I think the psuedosicnece that is the most harmful is confirmation bias because it does not gather all the evidence or rely on everything to draw conclusions and having bias does not present good information it just makes people more skeptical of the religion as a whole.
