On the first day of our internship, we went to our first meeting with Dr. Fathin, Head of Department of Dietetics and Food Services (DDFS), SASMEC @IIUM and Ms. Nik, one of the preceptors of our community placement. To be frank, all of us were quite nervous because we didn’t know what was waiting ahead of us. 😖 Dr. Fathin gave a general view regarding the upcoming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program that is going to be organised by Department of Business Development and Investment (BUDI), SASMEC. In conjunction with the CSR program, we were assigned to construct a nutritional intervention program at an orphanage. The full meeting minutes can be found through the link below.

Meeting Minutes Day 1

After the meeting, we went straight to work and got many things done throughout the day. What we did was:

1. Started to brainstorm the flow of the program according to the information given by Dr. Fathin and Ms. Nik during the meeting.

2. Drafted the budget based on the allocation that has been determined by the main committees.

3. Listed and arranged the due dates of task given by Dr. Hazirah (course coordinator) in order to make sure we stay on track within the given timeline.

4. Delegated task among team members. Each member received individual responsibility and contribution for the portfolio and proposal writing.

It’s the second day of our internship! 🥳 Since we had an in-depth discussion and meeting yesterday, we have the chance to take it easy today. Overall, we documented the preliminary ideas that we discussed previously and finished up the tasks that were given by our instructor and preceptor. We decided to settle all the tasks in our respective rooms at the mahallah.

Here's what we did:

2. Perpared for the presentation of our ideas in yesterday's brainstorming session to the instructor and preceptor. We made a simple slide which is attached together with this post.

3. Created the framework for the program's flow from preparation to evaluation.

4. Drafted the proposal for evaluation from the preceptors.

Today marks the third day of our internship! The past two days were hectic. 😵‍💫 However, we've made it to today, where we delivered our first presentation of the preliminary proposal for our community project to Dr. Fathin, Ms. Nik, and Mr. Na'im. We presented various aspects of the program, from its theme to the evaluation process. We received several pieces of feedback from the instructor and preceptors on how to improve the program and were also given some useful suggestions for further enhancement. 2. Began brainstorming on ways to improve the program and gather as many references as possible to support our revisions.

5. Discussed how to conduct a needs assessment for our target population to address the nutritional issues they are facing.

On the fourth day of our internship, we continued to discuss on the program improvisation based on the feedback given yesterday. We did the discussion at the cafeteria of Mahallah Fatimah az-Zahra. ✍🏻

During the discussion, we have:

1. Listed some possible themes and chose the most feasible ones for the program.

2. Reconstructed the program contents based on the chosen themes.

3. Made an online research on the program venue and the demographics of the target population.

4. Searched for existing pre-test surveys that can be used for the program.

This past week has been a whirlwind of brainstorming and discussions, but we’ve picked up some valuable lessons! 🤩 First of all, we all agreed that conducting a thorough assessment is key to running an impactful nutrition education program. It’s super important that we choose themes that really resonate with our target audience so that the information we share is relevant and useful. We also talked about how essential it is to get input from experienced individuals. They can offer solid insights and help us refine our ideas based on what we've discussed in our sessions. Overall, it’s been a great learning experience, and we’re excited to keep building on what we've started! 😄

It’s finally Friday, which means it’s the last day for our first week for internship. Time flies really fast when we’re busy. 🙂‍↕️ Generally, we started the day with an update from one of our members regarding yesterday’s meeting. Then, we decided to meet up at SASMEC today in order to consult Dr. Fathin and Mr. Na’im regarding our new plans. After the consultation, we continued to review our plans in details by using the feedback and advice received as guidelines.

The details of our day are as below:

1. Sr. Elzehra shared some general information that she acquired from a senior student who had conducted a program at the same location.

2. We went to Mr. Na’im's office to have a consultation regarding the updated plan we thought of yesterday. His feedbacks were:

• Ensure the delivering technique is appropriate for the target audience (children and adolescents) during the talk session and not too lengthy or complex.

• Divide the participants who join the program into groups based on their age so that the contents can be delivered effectively.

• Between the two themes that we came up with (sugar and fiber), Mr. Na’im was more inclined towards "sugar" as it seems to be close and more related to the target audience.

• The pamphlet that will be used must be not wordy and must include more pictures.

• The games can be made into stations so that all participants can enjoy them.

3. We consulted the theme chosen (sugar) with Dr. Fathin. However, it was not favored as it was too common and had already been done by the last batch. Dr. Fathin suggested us to visit the target audience's residence first before deciding the theme.

4. We received a confirmation from Dr. Fathin some time later that we were allowed to go visit Pusat Jagaan Chahaya for our needs assessment session.

5. We listed a complete questionnaire in order to prepare for our visit to Pusat Jagaan Chahaya on 14th October 2024, Monday, 10 a.m.

It's Monday again, which means we are in our second week of our community nutrition placement. After one week of constructing and reviewing the program flow, we finally got the rough idea about the nutritional intervention that is needed by our selected community, which is children and adolescent in the care center. That is because today, we get the chance to visit the care center and conduct an interview with the manager of the nursing home itself, Mr. Hasanin regarding the nutritional status of the residents. There were many insights and inputs that we gained from him in the matter of the residents and hardships in managing the care center.

There are several problems that were reported by Mr. Hasanin about the nutritional status of the residents:

1. Vegetable intake of the residents are very low, they only eat certain types of vegetables like carrot and cabbage.

2. The residents also does not have any specific mealtime, meaning that they only eat their meal of the day whenever they hungry.

   
   

With all of these information and insights, we finally can provide and outline the appropriate intervention program which will be presented to Dr. Fathin by tomorrow.

Today marked the second day of our second week in the community placement, and it was a pivotal one. After wrapping up a productive discussion the day before, we were eager to present the finalized flow of our program to Dr. Fathin. The meeting took place online through Google Meet, where each of us took turns explaining the structure, guiding her from the opening activities to the planned closing segment.

As we presented, Dr. Fathin listened attentively, offering thoughtful feedback along the way. Her suggestions not only refined our ideas but also challenged us to think more critically. The key takeaways from the meeting can be read in the meeting minutes below:

Meeting Minutes Day 7

With her feedback fresh in our minds, we regrouped right after the meeting to strategize our next steps.

We began by finalizing the menu for the food demonstration, agreeing on one dish to keep things manageable and aligned with Dr. Fathin’s advice. We then moved on to brainstorming the educational materials we would use, determined to make them both informative and accessible. During the discussion, new ideas emerged. 🤩 Sr. Ain proposed creating a simple recipe book, while Sr. Elzehra suggested making informative cards as tokens of appreciation for the community center.

Inspired by these ideas, we decided to integrate them into our program plan. Next, we shifted our focus to writing the proposal, ensuring it reflected the improvements we had discussed. Finally, we distributed specific tasks among team members, with each of us eager to carry out our responsibilities and move the project forward.

Today was both a challenging and enjoyable experience. We started by visiting the children's care center again to take their anthropometric measurements, focusing on weight and height. We borrowed a stadiometer with weighing scale from the Dietetics Clinic in SASMEC. Our plan was to later interpret the data using a suitable growth chart. However, we were surprised to find fewer children than expected. Some of the older kids were either working part-time after school or had not yet returned from school. Despite this, we completed the assessments in about 30 minutes. Afterward, we interviewed the children to gather general information about their food intake and their knowledge of fiber. This also helped us build rapport. Many of the girls were shy and quiet, but we managed to get some responses from them. 🤗

The children's care center in Pelindung only houses girls, so we had to visit another center to measure the boys. The boys’ care center was located in Bukit Kuin, about a 30-minute drive from Pelindung. Unlike the girls, the boys were energetic and talkative, making it much easier to get responses during the interview. 📝

Initially, we had planned to visit the boys' center the next day, but since we finished early with the girls, we decided to go right away and make the most of our time. Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly, and we managed to pull through before sunset. 🌄

After conducting anthropometric assessments with all the children at both care centers yesterday, we decided to focus on proposal writing today.

Other than that, we calculated the children's BMI and interpreted the anthropometric measurements by referring to the WHO's growth charts. We found that most of them had normal weight. Nevertheless, almost half of them had either abnormal height or BMI.

Additionally, after finalizing the program's theme, which was fiber intake, we began designing our educational materials. These materials, including a recipe book and informative bookmark, were created using Canva.

We did all our work today in our respective rooms in mahallah.

Thank god, it's Friday again, marking the end of the second week for our community nutrition placement. Since it's Friday, we decided to take things slowly as we completed our fieldwork going from end to end of Kuantan. In the blessed morning of Friday, we held our meeting to discuss several agenda that needed to be precisely planned to ensure the smoothness of the event. We also finalized all the details of the program including budget, tentative, and educational activities because we will have our proposal presentation with the course coordinator in the middle of week 3.

In the evening, the ladies went out to several shopping complexes, surveying the price of needed ingredients, utilities, and stationeries for the event. Meanwhile, the one and only gentleman in the group surveyed the printing costs of the educational materials. All of the findings were reported to Sr. Elzehra, the treasurer of our group that then will be noted in the proposal.

This week was incredibly hectic, but we pushed through every challenge and made it to the finish line. Our experience has taught us some valuable lessons that we’ll carry with us. We realized the importance of careful planning and setting deadlines. When everything is mapped out, life feels more manageable, and tasks run smoothly. Next, working as a team also showed us how collaboration makes things flow seamlessly, ensuring no one feels overwhelmed. However, what truly touched us was our visit to Pusat Jagaan Chahaya. Seeing the children there, who don’t have the privilege of being cared for by their parents, made us reflect deeply and feel grateful for the love and support we still receive from ours. It opened our eyes to the harsh reality that while we may think we have it tough, there are always others facing even greater challenges. Thus, it is a humbling reminder to appreciate what we have and to offer kindness wherever we can. 💕

Hi, everyone! Monday is here again, kicking off another productive week. The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity—brainstorming new ideas, conducting needs assessments for the children, visiting the center, and diving into back-to-back discussions.

Today marks the beginning of week three of our community placement, and we gathered at the meeting room of the Department of Dietetics and Food Services, SASMEC.

Here’s a quick update on what we accomplished:

1. We are nearly done with our proposal!

2. We had insightful consultations with Dr. Fathin and Mr. Na'im, refining the program details and reviewing the proposal ahead of tomorrow’s submission.

3. We took detailed notes on their feedback to enhance the content.

4. We walked them through the program flow and finalized the menu for the cooking demonstrations.

5. We made significant progress on both our proposal and slide presentation.

   
   

Although today was a bit hectic, we powered through and made it to the finish line. It’s all starting to come together, and we’re excited for what’s next! Let’s keep the momentum going! 💪

Tuesday came and we were a day closer towards our proposal presentation. 😖 But before that, we still need to submit our written proposal alongside the presentation slide before 5 p.m. So, we did our respective work in the morning at mahallah. Then, we had a mock presentation with Mr. Na’im and Ms. Syahiza at SASMEC in the afternoon. They gave us many constructive feedback that enabled us to improve and convey information more effectively. After that, we made the corrections based on the feedback received. In fact, were very rushed since it was already 4 p.m. We only had around one hour to finish everything, both the written proposal and the slide. Most of the feedback was technical, involving the design and readability of the slide.

Despite the time constraint, we were able to submit the assignments before the deadline! All of us were relieved at that time and got to have a short break. All that's left for the day is to prepare for our proposal presentation tomorrow. Pray for us!

Today is the day! Our proposal presentation day has passed today. The whole class gather for the first time today since this semester begin. The meeting was held online through Microsoft Teams since half of our classmates are doing their internship outside of Kuantan which might be difficult for them to join a face-to-face meeting in campus.

Our group was randomly positioned as the last group to present the proposal. Therefore, it was quite difficult for us to stay energetic until the end of the meeting. However, we tried our best to cheer each other up through Whatsapp chat group. Our instructor and preceptors also wished us all the best before we started our presentation.

After every group presented their proposal and program progress, we started our presentation at almost 11:50 a.m. Alhamdulillah, our presentation went well with no technical issues.

We received some comments from the other instructors to improve our future proposal write-up. They also commented on the program details, particularly the program setting which confused some instructors. We learned so much today from all classmates and instructors in that three-hour meeting. We hope all of the groups will conduct each of their program with ease and success.

After all of the critiques and recommendation we received yesterday, we've decided to sit back and relax to loosen up some of the tense from yesterday's agenda. So we decided to join a program organized by Department of Nutrition Sciences, Kulliyyah of Allied Health Sciences. It's a program focused on the diabetic population and the main aim for the participants was to be able to count their carbohydrate with the help of exchange concept. Several tasks were divided among us, whereby two of us were entrusted with registration and handling the participants' meal, and the other half were placed to attend the Klinik Diet @KAHS booth. Overall, we were glad to help all of the staff in making this program sucessful.

This week was a bit slow for all of us, but that doesn't mean we learned nothing. Firstly, we found that it is crucial to always double-check each of our work with the given rubrics to meet the requirements and objectives. We had a lot to prepare for the educational materials and planned to get it all done by Monday next week. We guessed that we put our focus way too much towards that to the point of overlooking the proposal. It's a hard pill to swallow, but we needed that to do better in the future. Other than that, we made sure to keep in mind to take criticism in a positive light. Yes, it can be demotivating and saddening to get criticism but if we look at it from another perspective, it's actually needed for our growth. Similarly, we felt quite down when we received feedback from our mock and actual proposal presentations. Nevertheless, we tried to take them positively because we knew that we still had a long way ahead. Moreover, it is a blessing to have experienced people check our work and give their two cents for improvement. Without them, our work might not be as refined as it is now.

We truly enjoyed creating these resources together and can’t wait to share them with the kids! We’ve also sent the content to our instructor and preceptors for validation. Once we get their approval, we’ll proceed with printing everything. Before we went back to Mahallah, we took picture together.

With all that done, we can finally relax a bit this weekend before diving into another busy week on Monday! 🥹

We’re now entering the fourth week of our internship, which means our program date is getting closer! 😳

To kick off the week, we met with our preceptors, Mr. Na'im and Ms. Nik, at SASMEC to review our nutritional education materials before printing. They provided valuable feedback, especially on the correct usage of Malay. Afterward, we divided the correction tasks based on the types of materials we prepared (pamphlets, presentation slides, recipe book, bookmarks, and fiber cards).

We also went shopping for tomorrow’s food testing and tasting. We chose two recipes—pajeon and high-fiber chicken nuggets. Since both dishes use similar fiber sources, we kept our shopping list short and cost-effective. All ingredients were then stored in the DDFS kitchenette.

Another hectic but satisfied day! Our initial plan to conduct food testing and tasting day should be tomorrow, which is on Wednesday. However, we decided to do it a day earlier to make the most of our time. By doing so, we can proceed with other preparations needed for the program the next day.

We started our day at 9 a.m., where we did some discussion at DDFS Meeting Room before starting our food testing. After that, we moved to DDFS kitchennette and began to prepare the ingredients needed and also did the recording of the food preparation. The recordings were needed so that we can present the video of cooking demonstration to the children in Pusat Jagaan Chahaya during the program.

We prepared high fiber chicken nuggets and pajeon. Even though all of us never tried making them before, the results were good and feasible. However, according to our preceptors and instructor, there were still rooms for improvements for both dishes we prepared. For the pajeon, we needed to reduce the amount of soda bicarbonate since the one we prepared tasted a bit bitter. Other than that, we made it too thick, while the real pajeon should be thin pancakes. For the nuggets, we were told that it lacked salt, so we made a second batch from the feedback. Thankfully, we succeeded during the second attempt as it yielded better texture and taste.

Although we made two dishes, we decided to proceed with the nuggets only since we found that preparing pajeon can be difficult. Our instructor also advised us to only do things within our capabilities. Consequently, we were left with many leftover ingredients, especially the vegetables. Therefore, we decided to use those leftover ingredients to make the nuggets. In the end, we managed to make almost 90 frozen nuggets for the children.

We ended our food testing session at 4 p.m. and finished cleaning up at 4:30 p.m. It was a very tiring day, but we learned that it is so important to conduct food testing and tasting day because it is a day where we can improve our knowledge in healthy cooking and skill in food preparation.

Another day another play, after a long day of recording and cooking in the kitchen, we settled the unfinished business to prepare for the big program which will come in less than a week. After a whole lot of dietary fiber yesterday, another fiber we need to take care of is paper. We needed to print out all the educational materials such as pamphlet, bookmarks, educational cards, recipe books, game materials, and the pre- and post-program evaluation questionnaire. We kick-started our day straight to the well-known printing shop among the students, Mentari Wadi Budi at OSC. Similar to the time we spent in the kitchen, we've been there 30 minutes after the shop opened until lunch hour break.

Sadly, the business didn't end there, we needed to go back to the shop after lunch hour to get our educational cards printed. Some editing and refining for the work of art needed to be done because there were some parts that the shop cannot help us with. After all the long stay in the shop and hundreds of ringgit, we've managed to print all of our materials today, which ticked off another point in our to-do-list.

Happy Thursday and Happy Deepavali! With today's holiday, we’re taking a little breather while still keeping up with our program preparations. This morning, we started cutting the fiber cards and bookmarks we printed yesterday, which will be one of the care center's tokens of appreciation and children’s goodies. After printing everything, we divided the tasks among ourselves to make sure we stayed on track. One of us also picked up two cartons of milk for the goodies, checking another item off the list!

We're both incredibly excited—and a little nervous—as the big day inches closer. Bit by bit, we're pulling everything together, hoping each detail falls into place perfectly. Today, though, we’re enjoying a relaxed vibe, unwinding while we work and savoring the small moments of this journey.

Hello everyone and happy November! We’re now reaching the end of week 4. In other words, we’re officially a month into our internship! 🥳 It's incredible how far we've come, from not knowing what to anticipate for our placement to completing the final stages of program preparation.

For today’s activities, they were similar to yesterday’s, where we took it easy and had a small discussion among ourselves. Among the things we discussed were:

1. The full list of items to be bought online and in-store.

2. Places to buy the goodies and game materials.

3. Plans for next week.

Additionally, Sr. Elzehra successfully bought some items online today so that they can arrive before the program. Overall, we are still on track with the program preparation. All that’s left to do is to get the goodies and game materials done.

With hardships come precious lessons. Though this week was filled with obstacles on the bigger part of the program preparation, it taught us that sometimes we shouldn’t overlook the small details. In this context, before we went to the print shop, we should’ve listed down all the materials that needed to be printed and the quantity for each. It sounds simple, but it slipped our minds, likely because we were rushing due to our plan falling behind. This haste made us eager to complete the tasks on our weekly to-do list. Additionally, we also learned the importance of having a backup plan. Although we set up a plan early on, some parts didn’t go as expected due to unforeseen issues. Fortunately, we adapted quickly by creating backup plans when needed. Through these events, this week taught us how to be patient and resilient during hectic times. 💪🏻

The 5th Monday in our internship has come. We’ve done a lot of things today, including shopping, packing bags of goodies, and making hampers.

In the morning, we went shopping for program supplies. We picked up fresh apples for the goodie bags, items for the prize hampers, and materials for the games.

After Zuhur, we spent time packing the bags of goodies and creating custom hampers. Sr. Ain took the lead in assembling the hampers, making them look elegant and well-organized. Meanwhile, Sr. Elzehra prepared the game materials by cutting them with scissors and pasting them onto manila cards. Lastly, Sr. Fatima and Br. Amri worked together to prepare the bookmarks to be put into the goodies bags. Everything was a hands-on process, and we felt really proud of the final result, knowing our efforts added a personal touch to the event preparations. We really enjoyed the preparation process today, even though it simply consisted of simple chores like assembling, cutting, and pasting.

It's three days left until the actual program! We're a little bit anxious but at the same time we are excited to provide a good nutrition intervention to the children of Pusat Jagaan Chahaya. Today, we went to their care centers in Pelindung and Bukit Kuin once again to conduct the pre-program evaluation. It's to test their baseline knowledge of fiber prior to the program, which will help us to know the knowledge gaps that exist among them.

Which means, once again today, we went on an adventurous journey in the district of Kuantan. Compared to the last visit, we can now properly navigate the boys' care center and were not lost in the area of Bukit Kuin. The visits went really well, as all the children gave very good responses and cooperated in answering the pre-program evaluation questionnaire. As a result, this cut short our estimated time to finish the evaluation. We ended the day with a discussion regarding the agenda for the next day and refined the program flow for this Thursday, in which we clarified all the inquiries with the other party. There isn't much time to spare, but Alhamdulillah as for now we have completed 80% of the program preparation.

Today is Wednesday, which means the countdown is on—tomorrow is the big day for our much-anticipated program, Aneka Serat, Hidup Sihat! Excitement and nerves are in full swing as we gear up for an event we've poured so much heart into. This morning, we kicked off preparations bright and early at SASMEC at 9:30 a.m. Our first task: wrapping apples for the goodies bags! We cut vibrant net fabric to use as wrappers and carefully tied each one with a ribbon, giving each apple a little extra charm. Once they were all wrapped, we placed them neatly in the goodie bags, imagining the smiles they’ll bring tomorrow.

Next up, we dove into a mock-talk session with Br. Amri and Sr. Elzehra to help them polish their presentations. It was a great practice run, and seeing everyone step into their roles made the event feel all the more real! Sr. Fatima and Sr. Ain then moved on to record the voiceovers for the cooking demonstration videos—a fun task that added a personal touch to the program. After a break for lunch and prayer, we returned refreshed and ready to tackle our board game preparation. Using straw boards, colorful paper, and vibrant pictures, we crafted a game that’s sure to add an interactive twist to the day.

Before heading back to mahallah, we sat down together and ran through the entire agenda for tomorrow. With every detail discussed and finalized, we’re feeling hopeful and ready for a smooth and successful event. We also sent the goodies and hampers to Department of Business Development and Investment (BUDI). Now, we’re counting down the hours, filled with anticipation and joy.

It's finally our program day! A lot of things happened today, and we're glad the day has come to an end.

First of all, we went to the program venue, which was at Pusat Jagaan Chahaya in Pelindung, two hours before the program time. Going there early gave us ample time to set up the game station and cook the frozen nuggets. There was a slight change in the game station setting, but it was manageable. On the other hand, cooking the nuggets took a longer time since we fried them in an air fryer that could only fit nine nugget pieces at one time; and we needed to fry 36 of them. Fortunately, our overall preparation went smoothly and without too many obstacles.

Our program started a bit later than we anticipated due to the boys having to travel from Bukit Kuin to Pelindung, which is around 28 km. They also finished their school later than the girls, which was at 1:35 p.m. Consequently, we started our talk session at about 2:50 p.m., 20 minutes later than the original tentative. Nevertheless, we managed to keep track of the time during the talk session and food demonstration. We found that the game session was a bit chaotic, especially the Lumba Sayur Pongpong because the time was running short and we had to end the game faster than we should have. Even so, the responses from the children were good, indicating that we somehow did well during the program.

All in all, today gave us many valuable experiences when it comes to executing a program. It didn't go exactly as planned, but we were able to adapt to the sudden changes quite well and we're happy that the program was conducted successfully! 🤗

Through our recent experiences, we’ve learned several important lessons that highlight the importance of preparation, communication, and flexibility. Firstly, confirming the availability of reimbursement or advance funds is crucial to ensure smooth financial planning. This allows us to be financially prepared without last-minute surprises. Additionally, making a detailed list of items to bring on the event day helps prevent unnecessary stress and ensures that nothing essential is overlooked.

Reviewing the agenda on the day of the event is equally essential. A final check helps us clarify the sequence of activities and allows us to mentally prepare for each phase of the event. In tandem with this, verifying that all information is consistent among everyone involved is critical; it ensures that no one is left out of the loop, preventing miscommunication and improving coordination. Finally, we’ve come to realize that not everything will unfold exactly as planned. Flexibility is essential, as adapting to changes allows us to manage unforeseen circumstances more effectively. This experience has reinforced that while careful planning is essential, so is the ability to remain adaptable and resilient.

Today, we decided to hold a quick meeting and discussion over lunch. The purpose of the meeting was to reflect on the program and discuss follow-up tasks. One of the main items on the agenda was the distribution of feedback form. The form was given to the SASMEC staff, our preceptors, and our instructor. Collecting feedback from these stakeholders was crucial, as it would provide valuable insights to help us identify areas for improvement and generate thoughtful conclusions for discussions in report writing.

In addition to disseminating the feedback form, we also dedicated a part of the meeting to assigning tasks for the upcoming program report presentation and report writing. We emphasized the importance of clearly dividing tasks to ensure each section of the report was concise and that everyone understood their responsibilities. We also discussed the program outcomes such as its strengths, weaknesses, and ways to make it better. This approach would help us produce a well-structured, comprehensive report that captures the program’s impact and the lessons learned.

Furthermore, we discussed the timeline for completing these tasks and ensured that each of us was informed of the deadlines. We hope we can make a complete preparation before the due date for the program report and report presentation.

It's the first day of our last week for community nutrition posting. 🥺 We kickstarted the week by writing our report for the program that we had conducted. In other words, we're in our respective places giving an undivided attention to our report which is due in 4 days. It seems a little early to commit to the task but there are other things that we also need to finish by this week, which is the presentation of the report. By all means, we also need to prepare a slideshow for the report. Nothing much is happening today but we still are moving steady and slow to get through this posting. We hope this last week will take on our side, making sure that everything is done flawlessly.

As the deadline for the project report approached on Thursday, we knew there was still plenty of work to be done. Our report draft was coming along, but there were details to refine and points to clarify. We wanted to ensure that each section flowed naturally, guiding the reader from our introduction through to the objectives, methods, and the outcomes we hoped to achieve. We sat down to go through each part, focusing on making everything clear and compelling.

Meanwhile, we also had to start crafting our slide presentation. We envisioned it as a visual summary of our project, with each slide capturing a single key idea in a concise way. We began breaking down our points, turning them into visuals and bullet points that would keep our audience engaged without overwhelming them. We wanted the slides to be simple yet impactful, using images and charts where we could to illustrate our points clearly.

As we worked, we also reminded ourselves to take breaks, knowing that a balanced pace would help us avoid burnout. So we set small milestones, chipping away at each part a little at a time, making progress while still finding moments to rest. This approach kept us focused and energized, moving closer to having everything ready by Thursday.

One more day before our project report submission! Like Monday and Tuesday, today we worked hard to finish our report while also making sure it was coherent and comprehensive. Not to forget our project presentation on Friday, we also continued to refine our parts in the slide.

Besides finishing our report, we also managed to settle an unfinished business from last week, which was submitting receipts of items we bought for the program. This step was necessary to ensure all purchases were documented and the reimbursement was collected.

All in all, today was a steady day. We're still on track with our timeline, and hopefully we can submit a good report tomorrow.

Today, we completed several tasks to meet the deadline for the project presentation and report submission. We successfully submitted both the presentation slides and the project report before 5 p.m.

Next, we also prepared for the report presentation. For example, we did a quick check of our slide presentation and mock presentation. We are ready for tomorrow's presentation. We hope to receive an excellent grade for this six-week placement.

Even though this week is the last week of our internship, there are still many lessons to learn. Firstly, we need to avoid procrastinating on any task or assignment given to us. For example, even if we have plenty of time to finish writing the report, we should start as early as possible because it’s not guaranteed that the task can be completed on time. Additionally, starting early allows us to improve the quality of the work. Next, we must be very careful when completing tasks or making decisions, especially in financial matters. The total amount of money needs to be calculated accurately, as it's easy to make mistakes when dealing with finances.

It’s the day of report presentation! We've gathered at the promised placed which is at our lovely Kulliyyah Of Allied Health Sciences, specifically at tutorial room 1 (TR1). The decision on having the presentation at kulliyyah was solely because it’s been a long time we haven’t been there, probably since the starts of our community nutrition placement.

As early as 8:30 a.m., we're already at TR1, lighting up the room, setting up our laptops, and having a quick mock presentation session. When the clock set at 9:00 a.m. we as a first group to present, started our presentation.

Alhamdullilah, praise be to The Lord, for all the ease that He made for us. The presentation went as smooth as butter, we were able to wrap up the presentation in the stipulated time. After that, we stayed on to listen and give our support to the other groups. The presentation session came to an end at 11:00 a.m. Later on, we had a quick photography session to sum up our community nutrition placement.

As Shakespeare once put it, "All that doth rise shall set, and every dawn doth yield to dusk." By having our report presentation today, it marks the dusk of our placement. A little bit relief on our side that we were able to complete this subject despite all the hardships we faced. Once again, Alhamdullilah for all the plans that He made us go through. Also, from the depth of our souls and the soles of our shoes, a boundless thank you to our preceptors and instructor in charge for all of the guidance and support throughout this subject.
