Our 10 TY cyber boot camp students had the opportunity to have a Q and A with people working in Trendmicro.They got am insights into the world of work as a soft wear engineer.They also now get to go to primary schools and teach 12 lessons.This will help those interested in teaching get a taste for what it's like.We also will build even stronger bonds with 4th class which will enable those students to transistion into 1st yr more smoothly in two years time.

Students researched their stance in teams, created a PowerPoint presentation, practiced in front of TY students and teachers to receive feedback on their presentation and style, and then presented in front of their English teacher, a guest teacher and a guest TY student.

We had a great morning celebrating the winners of our "Every Day Counts" 4 week attendance campaign with Junior students. Students from each Junior year group were rewarded for their outstanding attendance over the last four weeks 🏆 🥇

Thirty five students from 1st to 3rd year received gift vouchers of €20 for having 100% attendance. With dozens of students achieving 90%+ attendance over the 4 weeks we had a spot prize with loads of fun prizes drawn from the raffle.

Our second AI workshop, as part of the FÉILTE bursary, took place on Wednesday, March 12th at 2pm.

Prof. Jim O'Mahony, a professor of Biological Sciences at MTU, presented on the use of AI applications in teaching and learning. Professor O'Mahony has extensive knowledge of AI and is a regular speaker on the subject at various events, including NAPD and the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival and we were delighted that he agreed to share his insights and expertise on how AI can enhance education.

2A2 DML students creating action posters for Ethos week

DML students, in teams and using the Ethos templates, used Canva to create action posters around the various elements of our Ethos. This included them having an element per team and coming up with scenarios where these elements are seen in their everyday school lives. They then recorded these scenarios and used Canva or CapCut to create a video for each of the elements of our ethos.

2nd year Science student : Litter Picking

Within 25 minutes 2 large bags of litter was collecting from the castle grounds and surrounding green areas. This was completed to help improve the biodiversity in our town. Students are studying the importance of biodiversity to the worlds food supply and for the survival of of our species.
