Market research is where a company will conduct investigations to source information that will assist companies in understanding customers and their needs and help them with their planning for example it will help them for things like finding their pricing stairgates.

Primary research is when a company will conduct their own research. For example a company like Nike might be creating a new shoe product so they will make questionnaires to the public to ask what colors they would like the shoe in and how much they are willing to pay. Primary research can also be known as field research.

Secondary research is when a company like Nike will use information that has already been found out. For example Nike will use questionnaires that there competitor has created and found out answers. This is also know as desk research.
