Connecticut Compromise: With the Connecticut Compromise, the conflict was that big states wanted representatives based on population, while small states wanted representatives based on equality. So it was agreed that each state would have representatives based on population and equality in the Senate.
3/5's Compromise: In 1787, slaves and free black men and women wanted the right to vote. Congress couldn't let enough of their pride go to give them a full-valued vote, so every vote entered by a black man would only count as 3/5 of a vote.
Commerce and Slave Trade Compromise: At this point, some people were starting to get sick and tired of the whole slave trading business and wanted it to come to an end, but southern farmers and slave holders argued that the slaves were important to the rate of production of their farms. In result, the slave trading business was given 20 more years and then they would be shut down. In addition, the government was beginning to want to have the power to put a tax on the exporting of goods, but they were denied of that.

*The Connecticut Compromise issue was big and little states weren't getting the representation that they wanted so they resolved it with 3 branches two houses in congress and the house of representatives based on population and the senate is equal.
*The 3/5th's Compromise issue was slaves were only counted as 3/5th's of a person because of their skin tone and they wanted to be equal with the other people and didnt want to work for anyone. So they were eventually given a full vote.
*Commerce and Slave Trade Compromise was put in place because citizens were trying to tax there own goods for too much. So the states made a law protecting the power to tax the export of goods to any state

The conflict of the Connecticut Compromise was that the large and the small states could not agree on which method of representation they wanted to go with, so the resolution was to incorporate both methods of representation into one congressional branch with two houses. One house would represent each separate idea.

The conflict of the 3/5 compromise was the southern states did not agree with the way the population was dealt with, because the majority of their population were slaves, but the slaves weren't counted as people. This meant that the southern states had very little counted population. This upset them. The resolution to this conflict was that it was decided that slaves were to count as 3/5 of a person. This gave the southern states a more representative population in their own eye, even though they did not include the slaves in any government decisions.

The conflict of the Commerce and Slave Trade Compromise was that the north wanted to place taxes on imports and exports of the South to and from Britain. This was because they wanted the south to trade with them. The south, however, decided that they liked the British goods better and continued trade with them. The other side of the conflict was that the north was afraid that because of the 3/5 compromise, the south would increase importation of slaves to greatly increase their role and influence in the government. The resulting resolution was to place taxes on imported goods, but to ensure no tax would be placed on exported goods. The other side to the compromise was that the government could not interfere with the slave trade until the year 1808. In revisions of the document, a taxation rate of $10 a slave were placed on import of slaves.

representation in congress was the conflict. the Connecticut compromise solved this conflict by creating a bicameral legislature that appeased both sides. the senate had the equal representation that the small states wanted, and the house had the representation based on population that the big states wanted.

slave trade compromise
the commerce and slave trade was presented at the constitutional convention. one of the major disputes was over an issue of the states in the north wanted congress to have power to regulate commerce.

3/5 compromise
southern states with a large slave population felt they weren't being fairly represented in the house of representatives, so an agreement was made that slaves counted as 3/5 total when apportioning representatives.

Connecticut Compromise:

Conflict: We had two different plans. The larger states liked the Virginia Plan because the number of votes/ representatives was based on the states population. However the smaller states liked the New Jersey Plan because each state had the same amount of votes/representatives.

Resolution: We created two houses. The Senate which is equal and the House of Representatives which is based on population.

3/5's Compromise:

Conflict: Southern States with slaves wanted blacks to be counted with whites so that their population would be bigger and they would get more votes/representatives.

Resolution: So the 3/5's compromise allowed the states to count 3/5's of the slave population to determine how many votes/representatives the state gets.

Commerce and Slave Trade Compromise:

Conflict: The states in the north wanted Congress to have the power the regulate the activity of buying and selling in large amounts. However the Southern states feared that if this happened then Congress would end the slave trade.

Resolution: In the end Congress could regulate the activity of buying and selling in large amounts but congress could not get rid of the slave trade. However slaves being imported could be taxed.
