         <description><![CDATA[<div>John Cabot was born around 1450. he was a merchant in Venice, Italy. John Cabot was also a great navigator and wanted to explore the whole world. Cabot wanted to join a trade because he seen the items that traders brought from Asia. John Cabot thought the best way to go to Asia was to go west. In 1496, some english merchants agreed to pay for John Cabot's voyages. The king gave him permission to explore any land that wasen't claimed by a country or other set of land.John Cabot finaly had left England in 1497. Cabot only had one small ship and 17 men. John Cabot traveled around the west coast of the Atlantic Ocean. He sailed north to avoid any land claimed by Spain. On June 24, 1497, John Cabot reached the place of what we call today Canada. John Cabot had claimed the land for England. Then, John Cabot went back to England. He told the king that he found new land and will soon be rich. Then, John Cabot sailed back to the place now known as North America. John Cabot explored from chesapeake bay and all the way to the state know known as Maryland. Scientists don't know how he died. Some people say he died in a shipwreck and others believes that he came back to England and later on died there.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1496, some merchants in England agreed to pay for John Cabot”s voyage.  He went on four voyages. In 1492 to 1493 John Cabot came from Europe, through the Atlantic Ocean, and went to what we call today Cuba. Then in 1493 to 1496, John Cabot explored the seas from Europe, went through the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and made it to now in days Cuba and Puerto Rico. Two years later in the years 1498 to 1500, John Cabot explored from southern Europe crossed the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean, went near now what we call South America and went to an small part of Puerto Rico. Then two more years later, John Cabot explored near Africa and went to now in days Mexico and South America. John Cabot took these voyages because he thought the best way to get to Asia was to go west.<br><br></div><div><br></div><div> <br><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>
