I come from a small town called Watsonville here in California. Watsonville has a lot of agriculture there are many people who work in the fields picking strawberries, raspberries, etc. Cesar Chavez fought so that people who worked in agriculture had rights because they were often taken advantage of. Every time I walk passed this monument it reminds me of how lucky I am to be the first in my family to go to college and not have to work in the fields like they did.
