This piece could be a news article or an opinion piece. It could be an opinion piece, or even a youtube video (so long as it is no longer than 20 minutes long).

Then, once you have posted your article or video, pick 2 articles/videos posted by one of your classmates. After you watch their video or read their article, post a reply.

Your reply should be between 2 and 5 sentences, and it should start with one of the following Phrases:

-"I found this interesting because..."

-"I agree with this because..."

-"I disagree with this because..."

-"I was slightly confused by this because..."

"LO4: Show an ability to critique aspects of the current economic system in Ireland and/or the global economic system"

Read or watch each of these 2 articles/videos. Then leave a comment on each of them.

Your comments should be between 2 and 5 lines. It should begin with one of the following phrases:

Leave a supportive comment after each posted article/video.

After each person's comment, the e-moderator should leave a brief reply.

Where possible the e-moderator should leave a comment relating the posted opinion/comment back to one of the topics covered in previous classes.

This e-tivity takes place asynchronously. it should be completed 24 hours before the next class.

1. Individual contribution

20-30 minutes: Browse articles or videos.

10-20 minutes: Read the article/watch the video.

5 minutes: Post the video on SIPTULearn.ie

2. Participation:

20-30 minutes Read/watch 2 of your classmates' pieces

15 minutes: leave a post on each of these.

Total:

70-100 minutes

Everyone will briefly explain what their piece was about. People will be given a brief opportunity to share their thoughts on it.
