The book is considered a masterpiece of scientific literature, not only for its revolutionary ideas but also for its accessible and logical presentation.

The Secret Library: A Book-Lovers' Journey Through Curiosities of History by Oliver Tearle is a non-fiction book that explores the history of Western civilization through the lens of literature and books.

The book is praised for being a fascinating and engaging read that uncovers lesser-known historical anecdotes and surprising connections between various works and historical figures. It delves into a wide range of books—including novels, plays, travel books, and science books—to highlight how they have shaped history.

Reviewers note that the book is well-researched and avoids academic pomposity, making it an accessible and enjoyable "romp through literature, biography and bibliography". The clever cover design, featuring a keyhole that reveals a library, is also highlighted as a notable feature. The book is structured chronologically, covering different eras of Western civilization from the Classical Age to the modern world

.

The Mirror Of Pharos is the most dramatic books. I have ever read ! The author's writing is very skilful, because she doesn't rush the plot but kept me guessing throughout. Jack is an ordinary boy, Just

Like anybody else - at least that's what he thinks. An extraordinary ahead of him and it all starts with an unexpected parcel in his own handwriting.

At first I wasn't keen on Jack because he seemed too grumpy, but as the story progressed he became braver and he ended up one of my favorite characters.

As I'm crazy about wolves, I loved Alpha !

I was overjoyed to see Alpha not as a pet but as a magnificent wild beast roaming the land. I really liked how the book switched between past, present and future.

The shocking twists and turns that were hiding under my nose kept me turning the pages.

JS LANDOR painted pictures with her words, which allowed me to imagine. I was experiencing every thrilling, dangerous moment ! I'd recommend ,

The Mirror Of Pharos to children and adults who love gripping, surprising mysteries that have a bit of a dark side, but with humour as well.

_______________________________________

“Target 3 Billion” is one of the most inspiring books I have ever read. It is written by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, our beloved former President and the “Missile Man of India,” along with Srijan Pal Singh. The book is full of wisdom, ideas, and dreams that aim to make our world a better place for everyone — especially for the three billion people who live in villages and small towns.

The main idea of the book is PURA — which stands for Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas. Dr. Kalam believed that if villages get good roads, education, internet, healthcare, and job opportunities, then India will truly become a developed nation. Through this book, he shows how technology, teamwork, and determination can transform rural life.

What I love most about the book is how it gives real-life examples of people and projects that have already brought change. It made me feel that even students like us can be a part of building a strong and happy India. The language is simple, but the message is powerful — “Dream big, work hard, and help others rise with you.”

Reading Target 3 Billion made me realize that true development means not just personal success, but also uplifting others. Dr. Kalam’s smiling face on the cover reminds us that kindness and knowledge together can light up the world.

💫My Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)

This book is a must-read for every young Indian. It teaches us to dream not only for ourselves but for the nation. I recommend it to all my friends who want to make a difference in the world.

Publisher: Usborne Publishing

Illustrated Ghost Stories is a fun and spooky book for children. It has many short ghost stories with beautiful pictures. Some stories are scary, some are funny, and all are full of surprises. My favourite story is “The Haunted Clock Tower”, where a boy meets a friendly ghost. The stories are easy to read and not too frightening. The colourful illustrations make every story come alive. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to all kids who love ghosts and mysterious.

Amish Tripathi 's

SCION OF IKSHVAKU, the first installment in the ram Chandra series offers a hold and thoroughly modern reimagining of the ancient Indian epic the Ramayana far from a straight forward retelling, The novel explore the life of lord Rama through a contemporary lens, presenting him not as a flawless deity, but as a deeply human prince striving to adhere to the rigid laws of Dharma in a crumbling society.

The book excel in the political commentary and character development.

Amish create a vivid dystopian potrait of Ayodhya - A City obsessed with rules yet plagued by deep social inequality and corruption Rama cursed with poor luck from birth struggle constantly to prove his worth and leadership, providing a refreshing perspective on a character often mythologized beyond approach. The novel raise powerful question about the nature of Good governance the strict enforcement of laws versus the spirit of law versus the spirit of compassion, and the burden placed upon a righteous leader .

Tripathi ' s narrative pacing is fast blending action - packed sequence with profound philosophical debates by focusing on Rama's inner turmoil and the complex motivation of figure like his father , DASHRATH and the citizens of Ayodhya, The author successfully transform familiar mythology into a gripping accessible political thriller. SCION OF IKSHVAKU is an engaging read that know and critically examine the choice that defines a true hero. It is highly recommended for anyone who appreciate epic fantasy fused with social commentary.

Author - P.S. Raman

As a cricket follower , I love to watch the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the summers like millions of Indians do. Currently, there are 10 franchises in this league, but I found one of a team with the yellow 🟡 jersy more fascinating and dominant as compared to others, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). I also loved this franchise because of my idol and the current captain of this team 'Mahendra Singh Dhoni' , he is my idol and favourite player of cricket. That's why I prefer to read this amazing book by sir P.S. Raman.

This book signifies the struggle and hardwork of the team CSK to win their first ever trophy in 2010. It also shows a brief description of why is CSK the most successful franchise of this league. It shows the journey of togetherness and unity among the players since 2008 to present. It also shows the passion of capitan MS Dhoni for making the team a 5 time winner in 2010,2011,2018,2021,2023 . Though, the franchise was banned for 2 years in 2016 and 2017 , the team made a huge impact in the very next season and winning the 2018' s title under Dhoni 's captaincy. After all, this book is really heavenly for CSK and cricket fans

(THE ENGLISH TEACHER) BOOK REVIEW BY(AYUSHMAN RISHIRAJ ROUTRAY) AUTHOR BY (R.K.NAEAYAN)

The English Teacher by R. K. Narayan is a poignant, semi-autobiographical novel set in the fictional town of Malgudi, exploring themes of love, loss, and spiritual awakening. The story follows Krishna, an English teacher, whose life with his wife, Susila, and daughter, Leela, is a delight until tragedy strikes with Susila's sudden death.

The novel beautifully captures the nuances of human emotion as Krishna navigates profound grief and embarks on a journey of self-discovery. He feels discontent with his mundane teaching job and the cultural disconnect in Indian education, leading him to reevaluate his life's purpose. The narrative takes a unique turn as Krishna finds solace and a deeper understanding of life and death through spiritual communication with his deceased wife.

Narayan seamlessly blends realism with mythical elements, culminating in Krishna's decision to resign from his job and engage with a more fulfilling educational approach at an experimental school. The novel's sincerity, relatable characters, and lyrical language make it a heart-warming and touching read that explores the balance between worldly realities and spiritual insights. It is a powerful commentary on navigating grief and finding inner peace.

Book review By Ananya Shubhadayinee

Author : Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

“The Little Prince” is a magical journey that takes readers across tiny planets and big lessons. Through the eyes of a curious little prince, we explore themes of friendship, love, and the simple yet profound truths of life. Each character he meets teaches him — and us — the importance of seeing beyond appearances and valuing what truly matters. As the book reminds us, “What is essential is invisible to the eye,” encouraging readers to look with their hearts rather than just their eyes.

The story is both whimsical and deeply meaningful, blending imagination with life lessons in a way that appeals to children and adults alike. It shows that relationships, responsibility, and kindness are treasures far greater than wealth or fame. Filled with wisdom wrapped in charming storytelling, “The Little Prince” inspires readers to embrace curiosity, cherish friendships, and see the world with wonder. Truly, it is a timeless treasure that stays in your heart long after the last page is turned.

Author - Robert T. Kiyosaki

Publisher - Plata publishing

In this world, where barely anyone is not chasing money , we must have the basic knowledge of how to invest and use our money for the assets instead of liabilities. The author Robert T. Kiyosaki showcases this moral value through a story of his father, whom he calls the 'Rich Dad' , who does a few money yet have some exclusive and excellent skills on money, while his own dad whom he calls the 'Poor Dad', have more educational knowledge but a poor finance management struggle to pay the bills and taxes.

The author also explains that it is not money that makes the rich 'a rich' or poor ' a poor ' , it is their skill to utilise their earnings. He tells what the rich dad teaches his children about money is far more better than what the poor dad teaches his children about it. He shares his own experience about earning money from skills rather than from a degree.

The very first chapter of this elegant masterpiece is 'The rich don't work for money ', that symbolises that only the people with poor mindset work for money, whereas the rich makes the money work for them. I called this book elegant because, I loved the way the author describes money in simple stories. The book would surely help you to differentiate between assets and liabilities. Assets are the investments that takes money to give more money, for example - A rental property takes money to be maintained but gives more profit. Liabilities are the wants that take money and gives us satisfaction, now the people who have a poor mindset will waste thier hard earned money on libalities whereas the rich will invest first on assets then libalities with the left amount.

This book is now my favourite finance book of all time as it is written in such exclusive manner and consists of many plots in the stories.

"I am stronger",said the wind. "You just sit there, sun, and do nothing but shine. And when I blow the clouds in your face, you can 't even shine.of course I'm stronger." "Do you think you are stronger?"said the sun."Let us have a competition.". "Certainly", said the wind."what shall it be?" "She that man walking over there?" said the sun, looking at a man walking along a road. "I see him", said the wind. "He's wearing a shawl", said the sun."Let us see which of us can get his shawl off first." "Certainly",agreed the wind."That 's easy. I'll have the shawl off in on time.". The wind began to blow but the man didn't bother. Then the wind became harder and harder,so hard that the trees got bent, but the man didn't take off the shawl. He rather held it tighter round him.The more the wind blew, the tighter the man held the shawl. At last the wind was tired and could blow no more. And now it was the sun's turn. The sun smiled gently, and shine down on the earth. The air grew warmer and warmer. At last the man started feeling a little hot. He took off the shawl and kept it over one arm. "There!"said the sun."which of us got it off first?". The wind said nothing. He knew he was beaten. The sun proved stronger , after all.

Author - Jeff Kineey

This is the second most funniest comic book I have ever read. The story is based on a middle school boy named 'Greg' , who thinks that he is being filmed all the time and makes really hilarious imaginations. The author adds many silly plot twists to the story like, after reading a comic the boy wants to make a movie of the story! and many other interesting conversations between Greg and his schoolmates. This book is really good for bedtime stories and excellent to spend time while traveling. If you are also getting bored, then you should read one of these books because once you start reading, you can't stop yourself from laughing.

Author - Alan Moore and Brian Bolland

This is the most serious and intresting comic book I have read. The comic contents a mixture of joke and seriousness as batman doesn't like jokes. The book is a great combination of revenge, laughter ,battels and sadness. Despite being a old comic story from 1988 , the book shows how serious and deep rivalry was between joker and batman. In this comic, the author finally reavels the true identity of batman's lifetime foe , ' joker' , who was an unpaid engineer who left the job and became a stand up comedian to provide his wife with basic needs but ended up losing her becoming a criminal. The story starts with bat looking for joker in the Arkham Asylum and ends with a joke from the joker's mouth that made the stoneface batman laugh ridiculous. This story is an intense battle of justice and crime with great plot twists . This book will really raise your eyebrows up. Once you start reading this book, you can't stop turning the nextpage. This is a really good and interesting intense humour and psychological comic. You should definitely try to read a few pages in spare time.

Author - Alan Moore

'V for Vendetta is my favourite comic book because the story is full of intense plots and really dark political slaughters by the main character 'V' , who covers his face with a creepy white clown mask.

In the story, the United Kingdom was severely affected by nuclear war in the 80's that destroyed the democracy of the nation. There were many politicians who were grouped with the terrorists to achieve their desired goals.

V, the main character wants to kill those politicians because, they have tortured him in childhood but the world thinks that V is a hero , who wants to free the nation from those monster. Despite being a villain, V was never jailed nor punished , even after tne massacre of those politicians because of his clever plan and dark psychology.

This comic is a great combination of politics and fantasy . The book shows excellent plot twists that changed the whole scenario. I loved this comic book because of the intense scenes and suspense thriller.

Author - Joy Bhattacharjya

Since childhood, I loved the 'out of box' mindset of sir Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After Kapil Dev, many people captained Indian cricket team but non can make their nation win like Dhoni did. His hardwork and dedication made him successful and

the world cup winning captain of

2011.

Its not just the winning strategy that made Dhoni successful, it hardwork and the mindset with unique cricketing philosophy and innovation in the skills such as the classic revolutionary wicketkeeping and impact beyond just winning.

Dhoni focused on the sportsmanship spirit rather than the outcome of the game. He brought an extraordinary evolution to the captaincy , no other player can ever replace the legacy that Dhoni left behind.

The book shows excellent explanation of Dhoni's prominent role in cricket history. Despite being offered to a job , he left the job and became the first ever captain to win all three major white ball trophies, not just with winning strategy but the mindset and coordination with the fellow teammates.

This book is really impact-creating and motivating biography of a ticket collecter who collected all the white ball trophies. The author shows excellent explanation of how Dhoni did all that with a great mindset and hard work.

The overall usability of this book is really impact-creating and recommended for the peers as it will motivate you to improve your confidence.

My review - 5/5 for this inspiring masterpiece by the author Joy Bhattacharjya. At last, l would say that " HAR MOUSAM HAR SEASON, THALA FOR EVERY REASON"7️⃣.

Author - David Goggins

'Can't hurt me' is a really great autobiography of David Goggins, who was an abusive, overweight and depressed guy from the U.S who later became an Army ranger in the armed forces of U.S.

This book signifies that how hard work can change your life, even though it takes time to show results. This is a really good impact- creating and helpful book for students as it makes a strong sense of self discipline.

The author mentioned some techniques that don't seem to usefull but can make a huge impact, few major ones are listed below -

• The 40% rule - Most of people use only 40% of thier potential so, this book tells how to use the rest of it.

• The cookie jar method - Imagine a jar with the same number of cookies as your past achievements, no matter how silly they were. Now, when you thought of giving up just look at the jar again, it will remind you that how strong you are and what can you do.

• Mental governer - Your mind creates the false limits for itself like fear and pain to not let you move forward in life. But this book tells how to govern your own mind and fly beyond the limits.

• Coming back to winning - This book also emphasises that you can still win if you really want to no matter how much late it is. It also includes that how David became an extremely disciplined guy by overcoming the past issues.

At last I would say that, this book will really help you become self disciplined and mentally strong and stay firm un the worst phase of life.

Author - Jeff Kineey

This book is a really good combination of laughters and responsibilities. As the title suggests, the ugly truth about growing up is that you have to become responsible too. Being responsible was a great problem for the main character of this book, Greg. He doesn't want to be hardworking so he finds the substitutes in a funny way.

Greg always wished to not do the chores at his own but always gets into a trouble. The comic is written in an extraordinarily skillful manner such that you can't stop yourself from laughing. The humour and commentry is too much hilarious!

I would recommend you this book because of the funny plots and intense humour that could make anyone laugh. I literally fell off the chair while laughing because of this book. This book can instantly change your mood and make you feel cheerful. You should try to read one of the books of this series at the spare time.

All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque is widely considered the greatest war novel of all time. It offers a searing, essential anti-war perspective through the eyes of a young German soldier during World War I.

Key Themes

Futility of War: The novel vividly portrays the brutal reality of trench warfare, where immense losses yield little progress, highlighting the senselessness of the conflict.

Loss of Youth and Innocence: The main character, Paul Bäumer, and his friends are persuaded to join the war by their patriotic schoolmaster, Kantorek, but their illusions of glory are quickly shattered by the horrors they face. They feel betrayed by the older generation who sent them to die for empty ideals.

Psychological Trauma: Remarque's narrative explores the desensitization and lasting psychological wreckage that lingers even for survivors. The soldiers are forced to live in an environment of dread and fear, aged beyond their years by combat.

Plot Overview

The story follows Paul and his company of young men who are pushed into the trenches without adequate training. They must quickly adapt to the inhumane conditions, relying on each other and older soldiers like Stanislaus Katczinsky ("Kat") to survive amidst constant shelling, gruesome injuries, and death. The narrative includes stark contrasts between the ideals taught in school and the harsh realities of the front, such as the callous attitude towards death where rations for the dead become a primary concern for the living.

Significance

The novel is a powerful and haunting depiction of the human cost of war. It strips away the glorified image of battle, compelling readers to confront the trauma and physical pain endured by young soldiers. Its spare, lucid prose and unflinching realism make it a timeless anti-war classic.

Book Review by ( SWAYAM SMITA BEHERA )

Retold by ( RUSKIN BOND )

The story is full excitement and wonder, perfect for readers who love fantasy adventure. The world that feels alive - the glowing forest , talking animals and mysterious guardians of the mountain are especially memorable.

RUSTY is a relatable hero : brave but also unsure at times , which makes his growth feel real. The pacing keeps you hooked , with every chapter ending on a note of curiosity. The writing is simple but vivid , making it easy for young readers to imagine every scene.
