"My hands are of your color, but I shame / To wear a heart so white... / A little water clears us of this deed" (2.2.82-82-86).

Answer the following:

the speaker and the one spoken to (could be himself/herself)

Lady Macbeth is talking to Macbeth about how even though she has blood on her hands, she would rather have bloody hands than a weak heart.

the context (what was happening at this point in the play)

At this point of the play Macbeth has just killed King Duncan and Macbeth is freaking out. This makes Lady Macbeth put water on Macbeths hands to clean them off and take their sins with the blood.

Analyze this passage from the Feminist perspective.

This passage from a feminist perspective goes against female stereotypes and also contributes to them. The stereotype of men being "brave" and not afraid is flip flopped with Lady Macbeth being the one to get Macbeth to actually kill Duncan without any worry or sympathy, but she also nags Macbeth into doing it which is a common women stereotype.

1. What constitutes masculinity and femininity in the text?
Masculinity is the male power that overpower any form of power a woman could have. Femininity is the power and the use of traditional gender roles that can benefit a women, for example Lady Macbeth wanted Macbeth killing Duncan.

2.What are the power relationships between men and woman?
One power relationship is that Lady Macbeth has more power towards Macbeth because of her "overpowering feminine influences" when killing Duncan. Another power relationship is men have no power, no real power, against the witches, they have the ultimate power.
