Hank Aaron was born on February 5, 1934, in Mobile, Alabama (Kelly). Hank Aaron's icon growing up was Jackie Robinson, who was the first African American to play Major League Baseball (MLB) (Davis). Hank Aaron went to Central high school in Mobile, Alabama; in addition, Hank played football and baseball there. Also, he played for the Mobile Black Bears in the summer, a minor league team at the age of 15 (Nussbaum)! He got paid 10 dollars for every day played with the team; meanwhile, with the team, he played outfield and third. He did not attend a college, despite his mothers want of him to. Instead, he played for a negro league team, on a $200 contract per month (Nussbaum). This was just the start to Hammerin Hank's legendary career.

Aaron was great on the field, but even better off the field winning the Beacon and Presidential Medal of Freedom (Baseball Almanac).Those awards are amazing; however, he won the award every young kid dreams about as a kid. Winning a World Series Ring, the best award you can win in the MLB (Britannica). Hank Aaron also held the most home runs in a career for 31 years straight, ending his career with 755 home runs (Simon). Hank Aaron’s talents won him many awards on and off the field.
