The social class system of the Incan empire was very strict, essentially you couldn't communicate with those around you, unless they were on the same social class as you. You were able to move up and down social classes, if you married someone. The four social classes were Inca, Royalty, Nobility, and Allyu (the most important to the well being of society because they were the family people; who shared their farming land). Incans worked with silver and gold, but they worked most with cotton and cloth making. They had splendid craftsmen, who worked on stonemaking as well.

When the Spanish came to Cuzco, they were amazed by the culture and society of the social structure. This is where the emperor came from (essentially royalty in Inca civilization) who was carried around by servants. They were seen as the most important, which is why they took such care in preserving the royal bloodline. Nobles came out of the royal bloodline (whether they were related or not); some were leaders of the Incans who were conquered. Commoners were at the bottom of the social structure; instructed to serve/help the government, even though slavery was not a "technical thing" that existed. They were the farmers, and the people who worked "hands on" jobs (mostly consisting of growing different crops).

The Spainish Conquest expanded a "vast empire" from all the wars and bloodshed caused by a desire for power. There were rulers/emperors who were put into place (some died, and some were just for show). The government was run solely by the emporer who had servants from the lower social classes. There were also Nobles who were in charge of the government and its attributes such as the army. This system created an overall bureaucracy. There was many laws and regulations put into place for the Incan people, and if they weren't followed; harsh punishment would usually follow.

The government center was the city of Cusco; Pachacuti was the emperor. He believed that rulers shouldn't inherit the achievements of those before, in order to discover new ideas and new growth. The government expanded the fortress guarding the city and irrigation terraces for agriculture. They believed in multiple gods, that they depended on for all aspects of life. They all fought for the expansion of Inca territory. The civilization was run under diplomacy, they tried to be peaceful at first before they leaned on fighting/battle.

The economy began to decline due to the spread of disease, such as small pox. Farmers and craftsmen were expected to serve the emperor and the government, and give the crops they produce to the conquistedors. The society that had no economical structure (except for "taking what you need") nor currency, was now dependent on currency, trade, and hard work to simply survive. The civilization was now expected to pay taxes to the Spanish, which were collected by the nobles. Farming was still something heavily depended on, including crops (but now farmers were seen as less important, and more as "slaves").

The Incas relied on sweet potatoes, beans, chilie peppers, and quinoa for food. The Society as a whole lacked currency, so when "civilians" would do labor, the government was expected to pay them back with feasts. There was no market system within the Incan society, instead, people were provided with the needs of life without having to buy anything. Trade didn't exist either within the civilization, there was no money, and no currency, it simply wasn't needed.
