The students participated in the international collaborative activity of creating the “Harvard Plate” through Canva. They discussed the appropriate proportions of food groups in a balanced diet and contributed to the development of a shared digital project together with students from other European countries.

A particularly engaging activity was the creation of the letters “L” and “U” using fruits and vegetables, as part of the collaborative composition of the project title by all participating schools across Europe. This activity strengthened the students’ sense of belonging to the international project and highlighted the importance of cooperation among partner schools.

The educational robotics activities with the BeeBot robot also generated great enthusiasm among the students. They programmed the BeeBot’s route on mats related to the Healthy Eating Pyramid, giving movement commands to guide it towards the correct food categories or around obstacles such as oranges and water bottles. Through this playful learning experience, the students developed coding, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills while reinforcing their knowledge of healthy nutrition.

As part of the project activities, the students grew legumes in the classroom, including lentils, beans, and chickpeas. Using small containers filled with cotton wool, they observed the germination process and recorded the different stages of plant growth. Through this hands-on activity, they learned about the origin of food, the importance of legumes in a healthy diet, and the basic needs of plants for growth.

The students also took care of the school garden by watering the plants regularly. Through this activity, they learned about plant care, responsibility, and the importance of growing fresh fruits and vegetables as part of a healthy lifestyle.

The students drew their favourite foods and discussed whether they belonged to a healthy or unhealthy diet, expressing their initial opinions and ideas about nutrition.

The students explored the main food groups presented as five different “houses” and then classified various food items into the appropriate group. Through this activity, they improved their understanding of balanced nutrition and learned to recognize the role of different foods in a healthy diet.
