I wonder, though, about how EL students will perform with test instructions given in their language, while the test questions and answers are given in English? I think it's great they will be able to use a language to language dictionary, as long as they are also given extra time to effectively use it! The ever growing technology in today's society is both a benefit and challenge for standardized testing. I am also happy to see that they will be given extended time, because logically, if I student needs to look up words in their glossary, it would take them longer to complete the test.

I do wonder about the availability of these tools. Do students who are using assistive technology/bilingual glossaries have to provide their own? Do they have to "rent" from the SAT/ACT? Every student should be given the tools they need to succeed! If they are given the accommodations in the classroom they should be getting them on college board tests as well.  I am glad to hear that EL students will have the option of getting native language test instruction, glossary and/or extra time.
