The reason why the numbers of cameras have sharply decreased in the past decade is that many people are purchasing smartphones which have built-in cameras which means that they are substitutes for cameras at a much cheaper price as well as being capable of doing other things such as playing games, making calls. Another main reason is that most people take photos so that they can upload them to social media, and with a camera, it is much harder to upload photos on to social media than it is by uploading them from a smartphone.
The graph shows that there was a very sharp rise in sales leading up to 2010, but then this had fallen down by more than 50% in 2014 because this was the time where smartphones had started to get much better cameras which were built in, but this was also the time when social media started to have a large impact on society meaning that more and more people would want to post on places like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to name a few. AS it is much easier to upload photos on social media from a smartphone people would prefer that over a camera

The reason demand for cameras has dropped significantly in the last 10 years is because most smartphones have built in cameras that can record videos and take pictures. Smartphone cameras also outweighs normal DSLR’s in terms of picture quality, portability and accessibility.

That’s a huge change, and the number of manufactured cameras was reduced more than five times in only 6 years.
