People have sent us so many kind words about how much of a gentleman and how he gave opinions that nobody ever thought about and that his point of view was extremely unique. My Dad then followed in this tradition and served as a county councillor for 10 years (2004-2014). He was always extremely smart and if I ever said that I wanted something in the future he would always say " Well, that's what you can work toward", he believed that I could do anything. 
My Dad was a caring, hard working, loving man and he loved spending time with us, his family. 
He golfed every single Sunday morning at 8:30 with the same 3 people for the past 24 years. He was captain of Wicklow Golf Club in 2009. Dad was also a proud Leeds United and always supported them even though they are hopeless.

We had just arrived home from our holidays on the 27th of August. We have been going to France every year on our holidays for the past 12 years.
My Dad adored going to France and travelling around the world and he gave me the opportunity to do the same. In the past year we went to New York, I went skiing in Italy we spent a weekend in St Andrews in June for him to play golf. I had no idea about the amount of lives my Dad had an impact on. One woman came up to me and she started telling me a story about how when they were in Junior Infants together, she was scared of the horses and Dad just said "I'll walk with you until your past them". At the time, this story didn't really stick out at me but then you realise that he must have really impacted that woman for her to remember something like that from 47 years ago.
